Now that I'm paying attention, it does seem a tad slow. I'll click a link or type in the url and it'll take anywhere from 1sec to 5sec to do anything. Not glacial, but certainly slower than normal. If nobody said anything, I'd think it was my connection, which has been flaky this week for the first time ever.

APS & THR both have been acting weird this weekend past. Neither will load up in Opera anymore, just wait eternally for a connection from the server. Loads up OK in IE (blech) of course.

That's what happens when people type in all capital letters. Caps are bigger and get stuck in the network, creating blockages so no letters can get through.

That reminds me of something I'd managed a quip about in the office that caused someone to choke on their coffee.

They were apparently doing something to the network. A bunch of wires and cables were hanging down out of a ceiling tile, and there were some papers on the floor beneath it. So I said "See what happens when you send too big a print job?"

Which reminds ME of my final exam in computers in HS. FORTRAN D just so you know. Punchcards. shocked

We had to write a program for our final. My program was designed to list allllll the possible combinations of a 3 combo lock, in order, starting with 0-0-0. Apparently it worked, we were at a college or something and some computer guy was in charge and he ran my cards through the machine. The computer, which filled a good sized room, thought for what was an inordinately long time, compared to the other kid's programs anyways, and then it finally started printing, and printing, and printing. About this time the guy turns to me and says, "What WAS that program anyways?" I tell him, his eyes get real big, his jaw drops, his arms start flailing and off he runs to shut it down. Guess I was using just a bit too much paper and ink. laugh
