It's spelled ID. "Id" is a psychological term.

It appears these things can fetch some serious coin. She will be happy to know it was a good find.

I have a revolver seemingly identical to that, save for mine was blued and that seems to be nickel plated.
I had mine "papered" by S&W, which included sending in a description, with serial #, and a photograph.
The response indicated mine was a "model 1½." The paper says it's also refered to as the model 1½ second issue."
I am unfamiliar with the model 2, so I don't wish to make any absolute statements, but it seems to me that gun is also a model 1½. BTW mine is also in 32 rimfire.
Until someone more familiar with S&W revolvers responds and explains the difference I am going to maintain that gun is the same model as mine. If nothing else it ought to add a tad bit of spice to the thread. [popcorn]

I'm gonna go with a Model 1 1/2 too.
Model 2: http://cosmolineandrust.blogspot.com/2011/03/sunday-smith-50-number-2-1863.html

I think it's a Model 2.
I'm not a S&W expert by any means but the Model 2 was a tip up design, and the Model 1 1/2 was a break top, wasn't it. The pictured revolver hinges at the top of the frame.

I'm going to have to agree its not a 1 1/2. Ever picture I've found of a 1 1/2 tips the wrong way.
