My laziness comes back to bite me
« on: January 26, 2007, 01:10:39 PM »
We have a small porch at the rear of the house, just off one of the upstairs bedrooms. A few years ago I had my ex-assistant build a flower box for my wife. He made one that was about 4' long, and screwed into the railing of the porch.

Last summer, I noticed that the wood on the flower box had started to rot, and the box was pulling away from the railing. I'd better fix that, I told myself, adding the usual "someday" to that commitment.

Today I heard a loud noise. The flower box had finally fallen...right onto the air conditioning unit. The plastic fan guard is broken, but I won't know until an A/C person comes next week if the unit itself is damaged. Nor will I know until then if the insurance company will cover such damage.

The price of procrastination. Sad

Not windy, 280plus, but we've had a lot of wet, heavy snow. It was probably that weight that finally did the flower box in.

A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?
