We have a large Hmong population in the area. We also have a great Hmong/Vietnamese/Thai restaurant close by. They serve a fantastic Hmong pork sausage along with duck and BBQ pork. I found some of the sausage at a local Asian market this afternoon. It's what's for dinner, washed down by a good domestic lager.

Is it made with real Hmong?

^^^Cause Montagnards just don't taste the same.

Get off my lawn.
Has anyone seen my dog?

No, but it's made by real Hmong. And it is very tasty.
I ate two on regular hot dog buns, but they are not really intended to be eaten that way. Served open on a plate is the best way.

Long pork.

W have a large Eastern European population that came here in the 1880s to work at the steel mill. So, Kielbasa, or klobasi, is a staple here. We had some on Sunday night with sauerkraut and potatoes. Yum.

I love Vietnamese sandwiches.

In my neighborhood, we have... everybody.
Downside is that about a dozen or so blocks away, we have The Hood. You see tracers in the air on major holidays. Yeah, I know what a tracer looks like.
We have Hmong, we have the little people (and their peppers rock), and about 10 blocks in the other direction, we have some killer Mexican and then a couple of blocks later, Bosnian. A stop'n'rob near me used to advertise Frozen Camel.
My favorite _nearby_ (not total fave) Chinese restaurant is run by some Mexicans.

Diversity that doesn't *expletive deleted*it up the neighborhood. Can't beat foreign exchange food. >:D
We've got a lot of eastern euro here. One area is even called Ukrainian village. Between them and the Pollocks we have some excellent pirogi options.
Not a lot of SE Asian stuff that I'm aware of, but there are several decent Indian places if you like birani.

We were REALLY worried back when the Michael Brown stuff was going on, when some youts beat one of the younger Bosnian guys to death with hammers in the middle of the street. We were expecting to see some bodies stacked, but some folks are guessing the Bosnian guy may have been in bidness with someone else...
The folks are 99.9% pretty cool.
