Title: FBI assisting in British criminal investigation of murder of Russian ex-patriot

I saw a news article on this on drudge about this, and can't find it again angry

Anyway, it got me to thinking about state sovereignity issues (whatever your nation), and I was thinking that *if* foreign investigators are only working with the same authority that joe citizen has, if delegated by  local criminal investigators, I don't see an issue against it, as long as there isn't a conflict of interest in the investigation visa vi nationality (for example if the American justice department were a suspect in this probe).
