Voice from beyond urges vote against Harry Reid
Most obituaries offer a brief recital of a person’s history and the loved ones they leave behind. Not so for Charlotte McCourt, a onetime campaign supporter of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. McCourt died last week at the age of 84.
In the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the obituary printed Tuesday for McCourt notes her dissatisfaction with the job of the 70-year-old Reid. According to her family: “We believe that mom would say she was mortified to have taken a large role in the election of Harry Reid to U.S. Congress. Let the record show Charlotte was displeased with his work.”
The obituary, which has gotten nationwide attention, also offers advice to fellow Nevadans who plan to vote in the fall between Reid and his Republican challenger, Sharron Angle.
“Please, in lieu of flowers, vote for another more worthy candidate.”
