That is all.
This has been a public service announcement.
<annoying beeping noise>

Someone needs to tell them . . .
a) A 'scope on a rifle is for looking through, not looking over, when you're shooting at the enemy; and
b) Full auto is not a good choice for precision fire at long distance.

I was really disappointed in that episode.
Anyone notice where the little ninja went that jumped out of the box truck?

Never saw the driver after he ran after Michonne and didn't get her. Did driver ninja run back out the smashed gates, perhaps? If not, he/she will make himself/herself known later. Or, it was a hell of a continuity error.
-
I enjoyed it. Didn't see driver escape; seemed to run into the facility, so I'm thinking infiltration.
Not even going to comment on gun handling/tactics, because why?

Good on Carol for taking "cover"

Poor cover. Just getting his life turned around, learning how to talk to girls, finding snazzy duds to wear, then blamo! He becomes cover.

Cool poster.
Thread drift: "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", "then" <> "than", and "then" <> "than". Slight goober in an otherwise neat poster.
Getting real tired of seeing that, even in news stories supposedly written and edited by professionals. I suspect TDPTB will change the dictionaries in the near future to accommodate this common usage.

Ok I read through 3 times and can't find that.

They showed them running past the bus heading out.

Anyone going to watch the "NEW, IMPROVED BLACK AND WHITE WALKING DEAD!!!"
Comes on Thursday night, 8 eastern.
Yep, black and white, starting with episode 1.
What

Not following the show.
Was it more: "people fight, then zombies show up (maybe?)".

gunshots really "bring out yer dead"

Snipers engaged the people in the prison and a panel truck busted through the gate. After a sufficient amount of dramatic music had built up the tension, a ramp unfolded and zombies-- er, "walkers" came out of the truck and started stumbling after our heros.
Not really a bad tactic, made worse by the fact some of "our heros" were outside when they didn't have to be. Add to that few people know how to use full auto vs. semi effectively ........ :-X

Somewhat reminiscant of the Ghengis Kahn tactic of catapulting plauge infected dead bodies into cities he was sieging.

Why wait for them to be dead?

I don't. She didn't know where the guv was (remember the scenes in town with tea-boy). She was also lobbying to visit the prison. I don't see her finding the guv and coming up with such an audacious plan on such short notice.
Chris
-
I think she has a devious plan
-
Others have speculated re: Andrea. Anything's possible, but she had to: find out about the raid; stow away on the truck or replace planned occupant; find ninja costume; overcome her internal angsty conflict. All while being observed by "tea-boy" (nice phrase). I'm not seeing it.
-
Me either. I think the costume was merely protection for someone who would be driving a vehicle full of biters.

Yup, in the beginning of the movie 28 Days Later, there are people dressed for resisting biters, you would think there would be more of that...downsides are ( I guess ) to hot to be comfortable, not enough flesh shown for profitable TV

shark mail suits FTW

Or maybe just plain old motorcycle riding gear.

If she was a walker, might just let her bite me.
-
BTTT
May contain spoilers. Hopefully no duck penis.
So Andrea has turned all the way to the side of the Guv I think. She wavered a bit, but I think seeing Rick so cold and unwelcoming was her tipping point. That the guv would torture and try to kill her friends and yet she didn't dig that other eye out of his head while she had the chance.....
-
Yeah. I think she's too hungry for stability and comfort to see the principled choice.
Also, too bad to see Tyrese & co. at Woodbury.
ETA: I think the truck driver was the brunette Andrea asked about the Governor. When she gave an evasive answer, it fits she was in on the scheme.

That was...interesting. A guest on Talking Dead referred to that as "curbing", apparently a hallmark mob message. :O

I saw that for the first time in American History X.
Curbing, curb stomping, curb side dentistry, biting the curb... Nasty.
-
I liked how reasonable the Gov acted when informed about the ricktator losing his marbles.
I think Tyreese and cute gal, will refuse to murder in cold blood and switch sides, and the other two will be all like "yeah, lets kill the little baby and her older brother"

I first heard about it on Fox News (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIOREqBcFuY)

How is it the Walking Dead thread filtered to page three? The horror!
It took me thirty seconds to realize how to deal with the governor. Fire. Set fire to his little community. Add in explosions to draw walkers.
Yeah I'm like 6 days late. Sue me, I was in Mexico and then had to go right back to work!
-
Okay after watching last sunday's episode, I'm back to burning Woodbury to the ground.
-
That's not a bad idea really ~~ but I would suggest the use of accelerants.
Such as napalm........
Or gasoline.
That governor is seriously in need of ..........pest control. =D

burn baby burn!
Finally got to watch that episode with the gov and the ricktator, yup I agree the gov's got to go..how many ppl will the ricktatorship lose?
I hate to say it but the younger farmers daughter looks like the next victim to me, Glen Maggie to important to the script right now, merle/michonne adds lots of extra tension, I think they need to kill Laura - she's nothing but trouble but I don't see it happening.
I know Maggies name but not the other daughter? She sings real nice but that's not going to keep her alive. Poor girl :'(

If the show continues to follow the comic book (i have not read it only been told of it) the current cast is not killed off.
I think they will be adding some more soon. Maybe there was more people that go along with the random hiker and the 2 in the car found on the bridge.

Sounds like there are a lit of differences in the show and the comic.

Sounds like there are a lit of differences in the show and the comic.
I've only read the first 5 books (about 30 of the individual comics; they're over 100 issues now), but it's my understanding that Darryl isn't in the comics at all. Matters with Shane came to a head FAR earlier than in the show, and Tyrese's group's interactions with Rick's people are currently playing out differently than in the comics.

I missed it tonight working with junior #1 on science homework, and it's too late to watch or record the second showing. If you all recomed, I'll have to catch on demand.

Without giving spoilers, here's what you missed:
The governor does something whacked. Andrea does something stupid and impulsive. People regret their decisions. :)

spoiler alert
I'm glad some one finally put Andrea in her place. Hopefully they will fix her picker.

Anyone notice the shotshell reloading press in the store room?
Yup. I thought I saw a press in an earlier episode as well - maybe the one with Morgan?
-
spoilers ahead!
OH MAN! NUGENT AND MOTORHEAD!!!!
I liked that episode a lot, really glad the Ben character took a bullet for the gov ... didn't like that kid much.
I hope they kill the Gov this season, I guess we'll find out next week.
-
I have to admit, the first 40 minutes of the episode were pretty boring, but the last 20 were MORE than worth the price of admission.
-
Zombie mearle for the win.
-
Yup, the Merle subplot surprised me in more ways than one. The writers did a fine job there. Good semi-reedeming ending for him.

I saw part of it coming (the attempt to kill the Gov), but the humanizing bit was a shocker. I agree it was very well crafted.

Yup. That got me. [tinfoil]
Too bad Daryl is unlikely to find out what Merle tried to do. :'(

Disagree. He's a good enough tracker to figure it out. Failing that, if he's not blinded by rage he'll go back to the group and Michonne will tell him.

That is what I am thinking, kind of a teaser that Michonne is staying with the prison gang in the next weeks previews.
-
Michonne had more dialogue this show then almost all other episodes put together, she seemed almost talkative.
-

I didn't say impossible....but I think some people (including the TV producers) exaggerate what tracking can do.
Daryl would obviously be able to determine Merle was shot and might infer that the fact it was a chest wound was deliberate. That doesn't mean he will naturally attribute the shot to the governor.
The best bet is one of the governor's surviving henchmen will tell Daryl during a confrontation -- or that the governor will -- after Daryl beats the blimpin' snorts out of him.
Michonne might guess but I don't think she really knows just how Merle went out of this world.
-

Once you're OK with the idea of zombies, really awesome tracking shouldn't be too much of a stretch. ;)
Wonder if the prison gang will still be at the prison when The Gov. attacks - in the quick preview scene I thought I saw The Gov.'s group take out a prison watchtower with a grenade launcher, which is some significant firepower.

I saw the same thing with a grenade launcher.
-
From the short preview clips, I'm thinking trap for the Governor's crew.
-
Open prison to walkers
Turn genset with alarms back on.
Bail out.
Possibly include some kind of IED trap.
-
I saw the same thing with a grenade launcher.
I thought it was Rick with the launcher, which woulld play with the trap idea.
Always wondered why Rick's Army of Misfits didn't pull a SpecOps raid on the town. Ninja Michonne, Darrel the Archer, the suppressors, the knife skills...they could pull off a pretty quite raid and do some significant damage in a hit-and-run raid.
-
All's I can say (and I watched the follow-up show "Talking Dead" which had a slightly longer preview) is that Rick & his minions would be smart to set the prison up as a trap for the governor's militia....let 'em in, slam the door and spring the SURPRISE!
But do they have the smarts to pull it off? ??? ;/

RocketMan's Walking Dead Season Finale Episode Predictions (with some wiggle room)
1) Rick's crew bugs out, leaving some traps behind at the prison for the Guv's assault team. They get out just in the nick of time before the Guv arrives.
2) The Guv hits the prison after Rick's crew is gone. The traps left behind are somewhat effective. (Jawless zombie with rifle-like object tied to him trapped inside the guard tower for a decoy? Other jawless zombie decoys?)
3) Daryl figures out the larger part of what happened to Merle, and that the Guv is responsible. He makes his way back to the prison just in time to find the Guv and his crew in full assault.
4) Daryl manages to snipe a few of the Guv's crew and ultimately kills the Guv. The Guv knows it was Daryl that killed him.
5) Daryl may survive and escape to successfully track Rick's group and rejoin them, or may not survive after killing the Guv. Don't know for sure, but a main character almost has to die. It is the season finale, after all.
6) Andrea either dies from being tortured by the Guv (no real loss there), or she is left horribly and permanently disfigured, but manages to take on some leadership role in what remains of Woodbury after the Guv is croaked. Again, don't know for sure on this one for the same reason as five. Maybe we get a twofer main character die off.
7) Rick's group moves on down the road to the next season, making no attempt to find Andrea.
8) The last scene is of Zombie Guv wandering around the remains of the prison.
-
I can by that, Rocketman.
You should send the producers a nasty letter if they do it different.

Fire. I believe they should have torched woodbury early.
-
They couldn't have torched Woodbury and killed the gov.
It would have ended the season early.
-
Yup, would have been like killing Mags Bennet mid season.
Wait...
The Guv is Mags Bennet.
Wormy eyeglasses guy is Dickie
The tea is really Apple Pie!!! :o

I honestly don't think they will kill the guv.

That's one scary zombie!

Not in the season finale. Too many plot doors close if he's taken out now.

I remember that song, awesome!
Anyway, it was a great episode. I actually felt bad for Andrea.
I thought Carl was right to shoot the guy.
The guy was told to drop the gun, he didn't...it looked to me like he was going to try some kind of trick.
Man, the gov needed to die. You know he is coming back next season to do something dastardly.

My suspension of disbelief was temporarily broken when a heard the *ping* of a single brass case hitting the floor after the one shot from Rick's Python.
