Can anyone ID this Pepper
« on: September 03, 2012, 01:52:55 PM »
Id this pepper.
This came off a plant that I bought at lowes the was supposed to be a poblano. Definitely not.

Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Red

Sorry, it's all I got. And I had to get it in before someone else did.

I have not tried it yet. I guessing if it is a mix up and for sale at lowes I doubt it it some sort of death pepper.

Fully ripened jalapeno.  They ripen to red if you leave them on the plant long enough.  Usually very good, a little sweeter and less "green" tasting than your everyday jal.

How long is it?

Initial guess would be Fresno, Santa Fe, or Hungarian Wax.
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

Anaheim or Jalapeno (as Brad indicated). Too big/thick to be a Tabasco or Cayenne. Certainly not a poblano, unless it's some cultivar thereof. Poblanos are bell shaped.

Could be the Hungarian cultivar used for paprika. They have, hands down, the best flavor of any pepper I have ever had.

edit - Ah, lupinus beat me to it, up there.
