It's not myopic. It's ghoulish. To suggest that the Tiahrt amendment could have stopped a soldier from getting a gun is ludicrous. Moreover, those who knew Hasan knew he went shooting often. They also knew that he was at least a little bit whacko. Should they have called the FBI and reported a "gun nut" or should they have called to report a terrorist?
