Leaving it in the hands of 1 monumental idiot, 1 decent individual, 1 blow with the wind type, 1 with heart in the right place, mind in another entirely, and a management agent who needs more staff.

And I've not felt this good about something in a LONG time.

Having been there and done that as Condo Association Prez I commend your decision to curtail the madness. I believe the bulk of ALL HOA are made up of the same types. I could tell you about "Peter" for hours but I won't. Suffice it to say he was a dead ringer for Squidward except he played the violin, not the clarinet. The resemblance in appearance and character was remarkable. I am SOOOO happy to have not heard his voice in years now. shocked

I can appreciate your situation. I am an officer of one club and on the board of another. Sometimes it is a struggle to want to even go to a meeting.

Other times it can be rewarding.

I'd forgotten exactly when I resigned. Thanks for bringing this up.

Of all the people I mentioned back then, only the monumental idiot is still around, only he's no longer a board member, he's the finance guy for the association. We pay him a small salary so he's now an employee and can't serve on the board.

OK, first vent...

President of the HOA is a nice guy, but a talker.

We had our community annual meeting on Sunday, via Zoom. Not all that well attended, as you can imagine, but still enough to get the quorum we needed.

Well, in talking through some of the issues in the community, the President just talked... and talked... and *expletive deleted*ing TALKED. And merged from one topic right into the next. I had to yell at him twice to tell him that he needed to open the floor for discussion before he tried to call the question to a vote.

Two other times I had to yell at him so that I could actually add my input because he and another guy on the board opened a two-way dialog and again tried to steamroller right past everyone else.

Nope. You don't get to do that with me on the board, gents. Not going to happen.
