Civil lawsuit from negligent discharge

Ideally, the homeowner's insurance of the shooter will cover the civil suit.  Otherwise, he can kiss goodbye to his assets.

Goodman placed the gun on his chair when he got up to talk to a friend and it went off as he was sitting back down, the report states

Sitting on a chair it just goes off?
Sounds more like he grabbed it and pulled the trigger

Quote
Bland was stabilized by paramedics and then transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center. Tests showed she suffered right lung hemorrhaging, extensive injury to her chest wall and multiple rib fractures, the lawsuits states.
Quote
Bland was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further treatment and spent four days in the hospital, according to the lawsuit.
Only four days in the hospital for all that?

This article is leaving something(s) out IMHO

I'd be interested in the pistol type. When I first started reading I thought, "82, shot through the back and pulled through?!? Tough broad!" Then  I read further down.  =(

Back when I was shooting (IDPA rules) 1-2 times a week I was shooting on a hot range.

Our guns were loaded from the first stage to the last stage.

You just did not touch or remove your weapon unless you were drawing to shoot.

If for some reason you had to leave the range everything paused while you safely unloaded at the line and showed clear.

You didn't reload until you came up to shoot your next stage.

I cannot fathom unholstering your weapon in a restaurant of all places!

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
