If you stir some styrofoam up in the fuel it works even better....
Getting the styrofoam into an even suspension is the trick. You need some sort of emulsification agent to do that. Styrofoam + fuel = clumpy melted styrofoam.
I made a small batch as a kid in a pickle jar, and the styrene never dissolved or mixed with the gasoline, it just sat in a gooey paste at the bottom.
Additional benzene might help. I don't know. OTOH, gasoline probably/possibly has fractions in it that are benzene or close to it, so maybe it wouldn't.
The melted styrene burns like hades, and is incredibly difficult to extinguish, but it's too thick for a flamethrower as-is.
