What in the cluck is this?
« on: October 26, 2020, 10:35:59 AM »
I'm more than a bit gobsmacked that A) this would be a product, and B) that it would be so popular...

https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/kfc-walmart-chicken-scent-fire-logs

I've heard of scented firelogs before, but nothing like this. I can't even imagine wanting to put one in a fireplace and touching it off...

Need one that smells of Hoppes #9, gunsmoke and  good whiskey.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Heard that. When I was at Costco Friday, it seemed almost every food item had "pumpkin spice" in the name. Couldn't the China virus have wiped out the pumpkin spice?

A misprint.  It's "Sicken Spice," the log you throw on the fire when the party's over and you want everybody to go home.

I'm in Kentucky and I would rather have Lee's, CFL, or Popeye's if it had to be a fast food chicken place.
KFC used to be good 30 years ago.

You misread it.  It's "Sicken Spice," the log you throw on the fire when the party's over and you want everybody to go home.

When that one doesn't work, throw on one that smells like flatulence.

I'm considering getting some of the scented wax melts for on top of my pellet stove...

You would not believe how many are pumpkin base scent varieties there are. It's insane.

Maybe I'll just put a pot on top of the stove with some vanilla and cinnamon in it.

Personally, if I wanted a scented firelog, I'd look for one that smells like a log burning in a fireplace.

I've forgotten which, but some wood really stinks when you burn it... cottonwood?  Not sure, but I remember pitying the folks who lived down wind of my fireplace in my mobile home park.

Black Locust isn't too pleasant. I'm fond of Wild Cherry and of course the usual smoking woods, like Hickory, Apple, Mesquite and the like.

I've toyed with the notion of opening a firearm retailer, shooting range, whiskey tasting room, and tobacconist venue.
