Case XX pocketknives

Is their stainless steel good?  I want to get a couple of Case pocket knives, but one of the patterns I want (Small Texas Toothpick) only seems to comes in SS instead of CV.  The other one (Sodbuster Jr) is available in SS or CV and both options cost about the same.

They are still made in USA, right?  And come nice and sharp from the factory?

No, their Stainless isn't any good if you plan to use the knife much.

The last one I bought didn't come very sharp.

If you want a good sharp user, get one of the D2 Queen knives.

I remember when Queen Cutlery was a cheap knife.  (of course I could be misremembering it)

Queen has undergone a resurgence in the past decade.  They're now good quality knives.

Case, on the other hand, panders to collectors and doesn't put out a good user knife any longer.  Shame, 'cause they are pretty.

How 'bout their yellow-handled sodbuster?  (that one is for a gift for my dad. He recently lost the Gerber EZ-Out I gave him for Fathers Day 5 or 6 years ago, and the yellow handles should be easier to find)

Case or Queen?  In something like the Sodbuster, which still comes in 1095 steel IIRC, should be ok.  If I were going to get a user slipjoint, it would be a Queen.  If I wanted something pretty, I'd go Canal Street.

Looking at that 888knives link.

I see Bear and Sons has a 4 5/8" yellow sodbuster with 1095 drop point blade.  And for $2 more, the same knife with a lock blade.
