WHO would you like to see running? Anyone, even someone smart enough to not run for office.

Must be living, and qualified for the job (and I'm not even going to go there regarding whatshisname...).

John Stossel as Pres,  Penn Jillette as VP. Stossel/Jillette 2012!
HEll, I'd settle for reversing the current republican ticket...

Well, there was this guy that had been saying for several years that the economy could not keep going on the way it's been going on ...   (among other things)

With the economy the way it is, I'd like to see Dr. Walter Williams running. (Economist, professor at George Mason University, conservative/libertarian viewpoint.)

Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

Any of the radical-conservative/libertarian people would do it. It's not  the person, it's the platform (although probably a Rockwellite might do better than a Cato type).

Wake Harry Browne (former economist and Libertarian Party Pres Candidate) from the dead and run him for pres. Even if all he does is stand at the podium and scream "Brains! BRAINS!", he'll make more sense than either of the two dofuses (dofusi?) running now.

I really liked that Ripley / Hicks bumper sticker in that other thread...

Well, I sure did like Ron Paul.  Voted for him in the AZ primary, in fact.  I don't agree with his position on the war - I somewhat disagree with the war and the way it's been conducted - but I believe we owe our military men and women the courtesy and honor they deserve, and the chance to claim victory rather than just leave.

Congressman Paul did an interview with NPR which I greatly enjoyed, and he's since been on Glenn Beck a couple of times.  If there's anyone else in American politics today that represents me more completely, I haven't heard of him yet.

The Last Time Americans Heard A Democratic Presidential Candidate Utter The Word 'HOPE', Cigars Appeared in White House Closets.

I got that in an email today.

I wish a zombie Barry Goldwater was running for president.

Alan Keyes?  Thomas Sowell?  Anyone who isn't afraid to say "tough *expletive deleted*it, that's not yours, you didn't earn it, so you don't get to have it."

I'd love to see an articulate, firebrand conservative type like Rush Limbaugh be president.

A republican candidate might be a nice change after all these years.
Sometimes we carry more weight then we owe.
And sometimes goes on and on and on.

With half the population on mental life-support why should you expect better candidates?

If you want reform you're going to have to start with the suffrage eligibility.   We have gone from responsible ideals to outright superstition and self-delusion.  The Framers never intended to create a Republic where whim prevailed over wisdom.

Me / Penn Jillette

Not that I would actually win.

I'd run a 100-day restoration of the Constitution, particularly issuing Executive Orders to cease any perceived trampling of the Bill of Rights, and force the Supreme Court to confirm the Constitutionality of each law individually.

After 100 days, I would most likely assume room temperature, and Penn would serve out the rest of the time berating anyone trying to resume the trampling of the Constitution.
