Neemi and I are in northern Utah, but not southern. Normally we'd be taking a trip through there to visit her family in Phoenix right about now, but we're skipping it this year due to not being fans of 10-hour+ drives with any kids under 2.

Deleted by poster.  Bad joke, given the seriousness of the issue.

No, I'm looking for someone who could take my ashes to Dead Horse Point just north of Moab and spread them in the air over the canyons.

Nobody actually lives in Utah.  They may survive there, but real living requires going somewhere else.

How soon are you needing it done?

Got a friend with a Cessna 195.  We could make that happen I think.

My doctor says my chances of living another five years are less than 10%, so figure sometime in the next one to five years, but possibly longer. I just want to get the whole cremation, service, and ashes business arranged now so my family doesn't have to screw around with it.

That sounds like fun, unless the ashes blow back in his eyes and he crashes. ;)

There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Load them in one of those airsoft grenades; pull the pin, toss it out the window, and 5 seconds later, it disperses them pretty well.

That sounds like fun. I should get into a business like that. "Drop your ashes over your ex-wife's house...WITH A BLAST!"

Stick a provision in your will that your estate will pay up to, $3k (should be under $2k even $6/gal for 100LL) to cover fuel, hotel, and food for him and me.  He'd have a great time with a paid for excuse to fly to Moab.

How about just having yourself rendered down into a can of condensed cream of Monkeyleg soup and leaving it to an ex girlfriend?

Friend with the 195 is up for the ash spreading.  Should be $1200 in gas, so probably $1500 all in to fly out, get a hotel, meet charby and bedlamite to get the ashes, disperse them and fly home.

A funeral home in Moab will do it for $50, but it requires a state permit. Even just dumping it somewhere out in the desert requires a permit. I have to find out how to get a permit to have my not-much-more-than-cigarette-ashes thrown over a cliff with a 200 foot drop.

I wanna do it for you without the permit, plus I want to exploring out and this favor for a friend will make it even better.

Kinda off topic and definitely messed up, but when a friend died, we put some of his ashes into smaller containers and each of us deposited it in nifty remote parts of the country. Top of Mt Washington, Miami, etc.
"Rev, your picture is in my King James Bible, where Paul talks about "inventors of evil."  Yes, I know you'll take that as a compliment."  - Fistful, possibly highest compliment I've ever received.

^^^^

That isn't that uncommon. When a friend's father died we split him up and took him to Vegas and Reno and spread him around the major casinos and a few smaller ones. He lived to gamble so his son figured he may as well stay there forever. ;)

My wife and I will be mixed together and given to the Navy. Somewhere along the west coast they can throw us overboard.. We used to dump ashes over the Pacific out of the free fall chute we used for sonobouys in P3s. The most important this to remember was once you depressurized to open the chute to put a little bit of pressurization differential back in the cabin, if not you would be breaking out the vacuum to clean up the inside of the cabin.  :(
