Discovery Channel: Planet Earth-remarkable
« on: March 25, 2007, 03:40:07 PM »
We've been teased for weeks by the ads. We're watching the first episode on Ch 53 right now. It is remarkable: great visuals, and so far, no political BS.

Interesting.  I was watching "Ancient Discoveries" on the History Channel when I saw your post.

Flipped over, and all 3 kids came running, engrossed by the beautiful underwater footage.  So, we stayed there.

I watched the last two. Missed the first one.

Very cool, thanks for reminding me.

It certainly lived up to the hype.  I watched it on Discovery HD.  Wow!  shocked

Composition and scripting reminds me of David Attenborough's Life on Earth.  Sigourney Weaver's voice over don't hurt either.

I was on the alert for liberal tree-hugger type propaganda, but was pleasantly surprised to find none. Really phenomenal camera work though.
Some of the realism of the food chain might be too intense for young'uns.

I missed.
I don't know about the food chain stuff.  They need to learn that at some point.

Teach them the food chain from the beef documentary on the Simpsons.  A picture with all the animals.  Each has an arrow pointing to the man.  Smiley
