I really want to believe that OP article author was actually trying to be sarcastic.   When I step back it is hard to believe anyone could think in such a convoluted way to believe that.

BUT, with all the political and economic stupidity I have seen over the last 10 years, it is just too believable.  I blame some of it on just ultra-partisanship on the part of some.  If the other side wants it/believe it, it must be wrong or a flat out lie so the opposite must be true.  Some people just can't or won't step back and try to think (I've probably been guilty of this at times).  It is amazing to me what some of the political spokespersons on TV say sometimes trying to defend their side or deflect criticism.
