Same as I use here, on THR, TFL, FGMCC and elsewhere I want to be "public" on the net.  Sindawe.

Ya know... Sometimes these threads amaze me.
Look, I don't mean to be antisocial, but I highly encourage you guys to think twice before putting this sort of information out.

There are bad people out there smart enough to use little bits of information to get more etc.

Just my 2 bits.

Ha! If they can't figure out where I live, they aren't trying hard enough.

I meet people every day and tell them my name and where I live, they can get my license plate number by looking at my car, they can drive by my house and see me outside.

I'm definitely not going to spazz if someone finds out my IM name.

jefnvk, on AIM.

An attaboy to the first person that can IM me my first and last name, and middle initial, using my screen name and location.  Heck, post it here for all I care.

I really want to see if there is any truth to the claim that someone could use my location and name to find my real name (and address, if the resource I am thinking of had it updated, which it didn't).

Hforrest308 on AIM... henry_on_im on Yahoo!... maxflash39@hotmail.com on MSN.

Seems like everyone here uses AIM, all my family uses Yahoo, and all my friends use MSN. Trillian is great.

I never attach my last name to anything public, and doubt someone would intentionally go so such lengths to retrieve that information maliciously.

If you want my AIM screenname, don't be shy and PM me on THR. I'd rather not post it because I've had some people who would IM me every single minute I was online and if I didn't IM them they would be offended. :rolleyes

I wish I could attract more stalkers.  Unfortunately, they tend to avoid me like the plague.   Darn it!

As for finding my name, anyone with half a degree of intelligence could find it easily enough.  I don't go out of my way to hide it.  As for identity theft, even if you rabidly protect your personal info, when your credit card companies and govt agencies either lose the information or actually sell it...   Heh.  Kinda defeats the point of all that hard work, no?

While casual encryption keeps rift raft from reading your messages, you do know using encryption merely flags your messages for extra attention by various govt folks?    Wink
