This has been a topic often but now is gathering more steam with the CDC involved and potentially listing it as an alternative mode of death than suicide.

IMHO, the kids are figuring out "what freaks out the parents" and then going for it... For no real reason other than to freak out the parents. It seems like half the girls in Emma's class have scars on their wrists...
