When I see this photo, I don't see someone who would betray this country....I just see a man who has watched a little too much Jonny Quest.....
Y'all?.....
-
"So, you put your right hand in and...
That's what it's all about?"
-
Saw it.
Wasn't surprised at all.
It's just another nail in the electoral coffin of the most liberal senator in the senate.
I'd like to shake the hand of the person that put it up on the internet.
-
I can't take it that seriously. Many of our elected officials like to kiss up to thier host countries when abroad.
He looks like a jackass, but otherwise i could care less.
-
Thats pretty much what I see, a politician on a taxpayer funded junket playing nice nice with the host country by donning some BS traditional clothing.
Don't get me wrong, I despise the guy but I think there is plenty of real stuff to hammer him on that this kind of trivial junk.
-
Nonissue, he's playing dress-up with a photo op costume over a regular polo shirt, no different than Bush wearing a Chinese silk jacket. They all do that.
Doesn't even look particularly comfortable in it.
I object to the fact that he's a gungrabbing socialist, not his diplomatic dress-up photos.

This.
This is so completely a non issue, especially in comparison to the REAL reasons no one should vote for him, that I can't believe it has become as big an issue as it has.
-
I completely agree with the above two posts. Not that I think it's the case (Hillary is getting reeaaallly desperate), but it wouldn't surprise me if the Obama camp put out something like this to discredit his opponent. This kind of thing is so petty and ridiculous that it discredits whoever (supposedly) releases it a lot more than it does the target.
-
Actually I think the issue now has become the attempt at making an issue with a picture of something that isn't an issue. Now if we could find that picture of him biting the heads of those kittens then we might have something.
-
This clothing flap is a non-issue, in my estimation.
What I find more utterly disgusting is that rednecks are using Barack Hussein Obama's middle name when they talk about him - how dare they!
After all, nobody, but nobody, ever uses the middle names of Presidents - it just isn't done!
That's why you probably never heard the middle names of men like John Quincy Adams, William Henry Harrison, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Dwight David Eisenhower, George Herbert Walker Bush, William Howard Taft, Lyndon Baines Johnson, James Earl Carter, William Jefferson Clinton, or Harry S. Truman.
(Was the HST humor too subtle?)
-
The picture reminds me of someone. I can't quite place who... but it's very familiar.
He looks like an ass, by the way. So did Bush in China - looked like he was in his PJs.
-

Except for the fact that it "S" not "S."
This photo is a non-issue.
Now if they had a picture of him with his arm around Osama Bin Ladin and shooting an AK into the air, then you might have something.

Then someone should inform these people:
http://www.trumanlibrary.org/
(note the banner at the top of the page)
If you have time, take a look at some of the correspondence that's available on-line at the site, including handwritten notes on stationary labeled "From the desk of Harry S. Truman."

Obama may or may not be a Muslim.
In a perfect world, a picture like this would not affect his electoral chances one bit.
In a perfect world, people would be seriously debating his platform and issue stances.
This however is not a perfect world.
-
That is the problem with Obama, MicroBalrog. He has no platform that he is running on. All you ever hear him say is "Change." But you never hear him say how he is going to change things. Take the Iraq War for example. All you ever hear him say is that he wouldn't got us involved. So unless he has a time machine no one knows about and takes us back in time after he is elected that isn't going to change. You hear no plan from him on how we are going to get out of Iraq, just that we should have never gone.
-
I saw the picture and just figured he was participating in the customs of the foreign country he was visiting. I'd do the same thing if I visited the same place and they offered me some traditional garb to wear.
To me its no different when I go to my friend's synagogue and he asks me to keep my head covered inside, I'm just respecting my friend and the customs and traditions.

In the real world the religion of a True Believer is entirely relevant to the discussion of one's platform and issue stances.
That said: IMO the only religion most politicians have is the Religion of Self...
-
This is no better/different than Calvin Coolidge in an American Indian headdress: a wee bit uncomfy for all around, didn't make Cal an Indian, but the photo exists.
"Non-issue."

He does. Google Obama on the issues.

Issues like fighting global poverty by pledging a portion of the USA's GDP? The initial bill comes to $845,000,000,000 over, IIRC, five years.

Are you thinking I am an Obama supporter?
Gods no.
I'm saying, people should attack him on nonsense like this, not his faith or whatever.
-
If he supports gun rights, I don't care if he is a Muslim, Protestant, Martian, Klingon, Andorian, Romulan, etc...

Not me.....I don't trust Romulans.......and Obama could pass as one....

I don't think the picture means much of anything. Plenty of more substantial things to criticize about him about.
