Title: impulse control, Ruger LCP & I miss thr.
Post by: gunsmith on April 12, 2008, 09:09:02 AM
I had no intention of buying a new little Ruger, I ate breakfast in a casino and missed the big jackpot by one digit, oh well, won 400 bucks anyway.
(430 but I tipped the nice keno ladies)
All I was gonna do was get a holster for the 642 (gambling paid for that too) ...so I did, I got the holster and started talking guns, to the salesman, I inquired about the Ruger LCP (wanting to know how they are selling, like hotcakes I'm told).
Next thing I know I'm buying the LCP too.
So, has anyone else bought one/shot one yet?
I can't wait to put it on my ccw and get some holsters and fire it
it looks/feels like a great gun, I've never had a Keltec & this was only around 40 bucks more  then a similar Keltec.
Seems perfect for hot weather ccw ....so tiny!
sigh...if I wasn't banned from thr I could go there and ask.

I have a 1300 limit on my credit card, with 1180 in debt on it (but I keep making payments before they're due) and only 100 in checking account right now, I really should have just banked the dough.
(thats my impulse control problem)
But whats a guy to do? I held it in my hand and images of TSTHF ran through my head and me regretting not getting the LCP, even though I have an off paper pocket rocket in .25acp any way, and two snubbies .38/.357....oh well. undecided

Holy smokes, it does seem Ruger ain't run by Bill no more.

That there is a CCW piece to give Kel-tec a run for its money.  MSRP of $330, I wonder at the street price?

it was 354$ with tax and no brady because I have a ccw.
Now I have to stock up on .380...oh wait!...I've had a box in storage for almost 10 years rolleyes
You know you're a gun nut when you have had a box of ammo for ten years and not had a gun in that caliber.

I have no idea what you're talking about.  grin

I was charged $350 for mine, but I doubt it comes in before I leave for my internship in DC.

Holy crap, stores are gouging.

We're offering them at $289 as they trickle in.

LCP = Little Copy Pistol  Huh?

Looks like a Kel-Tek, only costs more  cheesy

I'll stick to my NAA Guardian, thanks....

I looked at a keltec too, the LCP is prettier.
And really close in price, I would rather own a Ruger

"Looks like a Kel-Tek, only costs more  "

Not so; it's had quite a few changes. The extractor is MUCH improved, there's a "safer" mag catch... not tied in with the magazine, but very handy for inspection, and the frame is Ruger's fiberglass fill polymer. It's leaps and bounds stiffer than the keltec is.

well I shot it six times this morning.
(6 shots, to cold to shoot for me, it was snowing!)
I missed the jug I was shooting at (15 yards maybe?)
I didn't realize .380 could be so loud!
It seemed louder then the last time I shot my .40 Glock
and had kind of a snappy recoil.
I am going to have to practice a lot or its only use is a point blank range.

I hate not having an indoor range.

Huh, now if only they start offering factory EBRing on the Mini series rifles I might think they've moved on from that useless c### Bill Ruger's legacy.

Your problem is clear, you need a higher credit limit.
