I guess its been out for a while but I just found this cool extension for Firefox that adds all the BBCode crap to your contextual menu!

Does lots of cool stuff like making color easier ... just select the copy and right click

also lets you

Thanks Zundie! Seems to work OK. Some of the smilies aren't supported hear though.

Only thing is it crashed on the install on my Win 2K machine and lost my profile when I rebooted. Now I gotta go find that thread on Mozilla Forums on how to get them back.

Alright, I've installed it, but I can't find the menu. I've highlighted and right clicked everything and I feel pretty silly because I cannot locate it. Someone help me. Ha.

I'm in the same boat esheato. It LOOKS like an edit menu, but it'snot showing up in mine...

esheato, winston smith,

In this message, specifically INSIDE of the editable area, right click and you should see the very top entry on the context menu labeled as "BBCode".   Works for me.

Edit:  Oooh.  The XHTML menu makes posting things on sites like Slashdot which prefer real HTML code easier as well.

I figured it out. You have to close the Firefox window and open another one for the changes to take place.

Thanks for the help though.

BTW, nice extension.    Cheesy

Hah.  I grew up at the command line.  I still do things at the command line that other people prefer a GUI to do.

But I'm also lazy.  Cheesy

OK, got my bookmarks restored with just a couple of clicks so Zundie is off my "you-know-what-list" Wink

Sindawe, I feel ya brother. It's been years since I had to, and my brain has gotten lazy. I wish I could find a good "command line for dummies" reference. Need to spend some time learning to code again too. Probably be a more productive use of my time than watching the crap on TV.

Uh.... what if you don't have two mouse buttons? Thus can't right click? And option-clicking yields only the normal result?

If you're on a Mac it's not option+click that brings up the contextual menu, its control+click (and make sure you're clicking in the window where you type your post)

For gosh sakes get rid of the stupid one button mouse ... I've been a mac user since OS 7 and I've never kept a one button mouse for more then a day :p

After Dark, the Screen Saver, was great fun.

Dave Markowitz-

FWIW, the Microsoft Explorer mice work with Apples too. There are Mac install drivers in the box. I have a Mac user friend who says the MS mouse works better on his Mac than on a PC. Go figure.

I second the Microsoft optical mice like the Explorer (which I use)

Only Microsoft products in my house are an Xbox and a Microsoft mouse ... everything else is Apple Smiley

Er, I think you meant to direct this at Winston.  Anyway, I prefer Logitech rodents, whether I'm running Windows, Linux, or Mac.   Smiley

Oops!, yeah that was meant for Winston. Typing faster than I was reading Shocked

I've got a couple of Logitechs, but since they changed the shape around on them, they don't fit my hand as well as the Microsoft which is now shaped the way Logitech used to be.

The now discontinued Trackman Marble FX. Now that was a mouse!
