Kucinich has been on the floor of the House for about 2, maybe 2 and a half, hours right now reading 35 articles of impeachment against Bush. He's around #22 right now.
I've been listening for about a half an hour. Nothing really new coming up.
Personally I don't think it's going anywhere.
-
Mmm. I sort of like Dennis. I disagree with him on almost every point, but there's a noble quality to him.
-
Koo-Koonich missed his meds?
Someone ought to tell him his UFO has arrived.
-
Oh boo-hoo, Kucinich believes in UFOs. So did Goldwater. Doesn't make him crazy.
-
Yeah, but reading articles of impeachment on a second-term presidency scant months before the election ain't exactly a mark of sanity...
-
Does anybody think that Kucinich really thinks it'll go anywhere? He's likely trying to make some form of point.
-
He can read?
-
Kucinich says he saw something that he didn't know what it was, hence it was an unidentified flying object.
He didnt say he saw aliens.
Btw, this totally wont go anywhere, and thats too bad.
I'm miffed at the Democrats too, this should have happened years ago. This is just further proof that the system is disgustingly broken on both sides.
-
He's still going. I just flipped on C-SPAN and he's on article #34 now. Obstructing investigations of 9/11.
-
There was zero notice on CNN and the other networks, online anyway, an hour ago.
-
isn't he worried about his credibility/viability?
-
Pelosi has already stated impeachment isn't an option and he chose to do it when no one else was in the chamber.
He just wants to continue his "0-innumerable" streak of resolutions being ignored.
-
This is kinda like closing the barn door after the horses are in the next county.
-
Is anyone else even there this late?
-
Probably not even his hot wife.
It was on CSpan.
-

He didnt say he saw aliens.
It doesn't matter either way.

What Nitrogen said.

Impeach Bush? Hah. I wish the link was still there, but I saw him on Memri TV awhile back, in Syria, talking to the honcho thare. It was digusting. It sounded like "Beat me, give me a wedgie, take my lunch, and then you will like us? Please?" Impeach Kucinich. And Pelosi. and Reid. For starters. Have they never heard of the Logan Act, giveing aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war?

America is not at war with Syria.

The logan act is an unconstitutional joke, beaten only by the Alien and Sedition acts.
Now I agree with you that Kucinich and Pelosi and espically Reid should be impeached, but probably not for the same reasons you do. Mine have more to do with abandonment of duties and oversight.
-
I still see the driving force as party payback ... I think Clinton is the only President in our entire history to be impeached, and he was a liar ... so now there is a need to turn the table and call Bush a liar and impeach him, the old "republicans do it too" excuse ... I have a feeling that no matter what Republican was in office, and no matter what he did, that there would be a bunch of democrats saying that he lied and he must be impeached. But no, it ain't happening ... in fact, the title of this thread was the first good laugh I've had today.
-
... I think Clinton is the only President in our entire history to be impeached ...
Andrew Johnson.
As for Kucinich, the first time I saw him was a couple of election cycles ago when I came upon a debate as I was flipping channels. He was making some point, and, as the Almighty is my witness, I though he was the Socialist Worker's Party candidate from what he was saying.
Imagine my bemusement when I found out he'd already been elected to Congress in Ohio.

What about how the Logan Act should apply to Carter?
-
What about how the Logan Act should apply to Carter?
What aid and comfort has he given and to whom?
Besides, the Logan Act, as Nitrogen existed, shouldn't exist.

His wife told him to do it and he does what she tells him.
Bush won't be impeached, but a President Obama might well be. There's impeachment in the air, the result of too many betrayals by too many people over the years.
-
The Democrats aren't going to impeach Bush, though they could and should. Sort of a professional courtesy among criminals, I suppose
-
The Democrats aren't going to impeach Bush, though they could and should.
Thing is, any Articles of Impeachment the Dems would draw up wouldn't be for the things that Bush ought to be impeached for - like failing to deal with the influx of millions upon millions of foreign criminals invading our country.
-
millions upon millions of foreign criminals invading our country
Oh, you mean "guest voters" ?
-
Re the above, possibly an interesting idea, perhapss something that should have been PREVIOUSLY taken up.
At this point in time, how much longer is Bush going to be in office, I submit that impeachment is something that isn't going to happen.
-
Understand, I am no fan of Bill Clinton. But 'party payback'? If impeachment charges can be brought up against Clinton for getting a B.J., we'd be foolish to think the Democrats won't bring forth impeachment [of Bush] for deceiving the country into what many consider an unjust war.
-
Mmm. I sort of like Dennis. I disagree with him on almost every point, but there's a noble quality to him.
It's from his time carrying the One Ring.

Or, a 'President Obama' may well investigate and prosecute the crimes of the Bush Administration. That's almost as good as impeachment. I wonder if Cheney can squeal like a pig.

They've had almost eight years to do so. They have had over a year with a majority in both houses, but have yet to make a serious attempt. So it ain't so foolish, I guess.
-

So we've been hearing. But that would be very ill-advised. Political trials of former heads of state is something most Americans associate with violent, benighted nations.

People still repeating this propaganda? The way I remember it, Clinton was impeached for perjuring himself, it came about because of allegations from Paula Jones, and since it was his word against hers there was a question about whether Clinton had a pattern of behavior such as Paula Jones described, and women came forward, I can't remember all their names now .. but Clinton denied and denied but when it came to Monica she had evidence and Clinton was busted and IIRC he had to pay off Paula. So let's be clear on this now, Clinton was not impeached for getting a B.J., he was impeached for perjuring himself over sexual allegations.
we'd be foolish to think the Democrats won't bring forth impeachment [of Bush] for deceiving the country into what many consider an unjust war.
And there's the propaganda again - Bush deceived the country i.e. he lied just like Clinton i.e. republicans do it too. I don't think so.
-

And a certain way to ensure that politicians begin to do whatever it takes for them or their party to remain in power.
We're talking corruption and killing on a scale this country has never seen.
The criminal justice system cannot be allowed to be used for mere political retribution.
-
Isn't this sort of just... acting? So that people say "wow, Democrats are really doing somethingTM!"
-
Yep; more WWF. G Bush should have been impeached a long time ago. Bill Clinton should have been impeached, then tried, on two counts - not one. And George's father should have been impeached as well.
No, it is not going to happen. In World Wrestling the "combatants" never really deliver those forearm smashes, headbutts, etc. The idea is to convince enough gullible people to buy the tickets, merchandise and keep them occupied.

i think you need to look at our history more

We're talking corruption and killing on a scale this country has never seen.
I'll start you with three words: Lyndon Baines Johnson.
. . . Clinton was not impeached for getting a B.J., he was impeached for perjuring himself over sexual allegations.
As was pointed out at the time, hundreds of "lesser" people have gone to prison for perjuring themselves about sexual allegations.
-
Once again the valiant Democrats narrowly avoided the Republican ploy to force them to actually vote on the Articles and instead punted by shipping them off to keep the Cheney articles company in the round file.
Man up nancies, quit running your yaps if you aren't willing to back it up. You're embarrassing yourselves.
