It's 106 degrees F in the shade out on my porch right now
-
Not a lot better here in the Mile High City. 102° F in the shade here.
Of course, in Montana there is a lot less annoying people being important by filling up space (for now).

We're also under a "Red Flag" warning - meaning conditions are ripe for explosive fire behavior. We got called to assist for a car fire/grass fire on the hiway last night, but were turned back before we got there.
-
I live in Dallas. It's probably that hot now, and it's pm.
-
I'll take that temperature and low humidity any day over the kind of crap we have here in metro DC.
We don't just have the three "Hs" here -- Hazy, Hot, and Humid.
As often as not, it's the FOUR Hs...
Hellishly Hazy, Hot, and Humid.

I visited the city in the summer once. The air was...yellow. Plus it smelled like the stale exhaust of a million failing and ancient diesel Volvos.

What Tallpine is not telling you is that it's going to be about 59 degrees when he wakes up. It'll be noon before it even starts to feel a little warm.
Similar weather here in Casper, Wyoming - humidity is almost nothing, and the nighttime lows are always about 40 degrees less than the daytime highs. Lack of moisture in the air and skinny atmosphere doesn't hold the heat.

Han Solo was doing the nasty around your pool?

Used to it from living in KC and Oklahoma. Plus now spending two years straight in Iraq.

You know, I almost (almost) feel guilty. We've had a mild and comparatively wet summer in NM. Just about the time it starts getting hot, the daily afternoon shower comes along and cools things off nicely.

Which would explain why Mike is so grouchy

Ummm, no, I don't, but thanks for the update.

You wouldn't like it here anyway. Too many trailer houses, and pickups with gun racks parked on un-mown lawns.
-
1. I don't mind trailer homes, as long as they are squared away.
2. I don't mind pick ups as long as they are clean, unrusted and not parked in front yards.
3. I really hate unmown lawns.

Hank, is that you?

My hero!
My lawn in my flag, Peggy.
Great documentary about Tejas. Everything I know about Tejas (other than my trips to Thunder Ranch) I get from watching that documentary.

"squared away"
2. I don't mind pick ups as long as they are clean, unrusted and not parked in front yards.
Mine is old (1976), usually muddy, and starting to rust.
No sense worshing it - it will just get dirty again. Though once a year or so I do have to hose 500 pounds or more of mud out from under the fenders so the wheels can still turn.
It's really hard to tell whether it's parked on the lawn or not, since my driveway has grass growing in it. I have to mow my drive and parking area at least once a summer to keep it below knee height and keep the snakes away.
3. I really hate unmown lawns.
Well, geeze - you wouldn't even know it was a "lawn" unless it was mowed once in a while The only difference between my "lawn" and the tall native grass beyond is the fact that the "lawn" is sometimes mowed - mostly for fire danger and to keep the rattlesnakes away, or at least have one place where you can see them easily.
So if I didn't mow my lawn then I wouldn't have a lawn anymore and it wouldn't be an unmowed lawn

We hit 107 yesterday....probably will again, today.....and our humidity hangs around 30-50%......
Summer in Montana is a lot like Texas.....Texas in the winter....
-
1) King of the Hill is one of the greatest shows ever.
2) Tallpine, my grandparents say "worsh." Thanks for the Monday morning smile.
-
Well, I want Montana politics with W. WA weather.
Seems like any place with a pleasant climate gets infested with leftist idiots tho.
I'll stay here until the politics become more intolerable to than the weather is in Wyo or MT.
-

Yep - that is the Colorado has gone IMO
Which is why I put up with the heat and cold and wind, ticks, cactus, and wildfires.
dasmi: I was born in Texas - where we worshed our cars and ate skworsh with our green beans
-
Ah! Skworsh! That's another one they say.
-
I have this theory that all the R's migrated from New England to Texas

Mike I have been here all summer and being from KS this is the mildest summer I have ever known in my lifetime. Even when it's 75% humiditiy and 93 like the other day I was still out walking because it was so nice.
Heat that will kill you can be found in the midwest like in Western KS right now.
