In big red letters: "DENIED: transfer across state lines to unlicensed entity prohibited"
Apparently transferring across state lines requires a dealer for NFA toys. That was a $200 mistake.
So I assume I need to find a local dealer to transfer to (for $200) then to transfer to me (for another $200). Awesome.

Yep, that's true, though since it was denied they SHOULD refund your $200 - that $200 is specifically the amount for the stamp, NOT a processing fee.
Refund?
Should you get it? Sure. Will you? In a timely manner?
And people want the same bureaucrats to oversee all health care...

Just saying, officially, it's only to be used for the issuing of a tax stamp.
I know, it's just that trying to get a refund you're entited to from anything you've sent to any fedgov agency, you might as well try to take a steak away from a ravenous dog.
