WHAT is the purpose for the steering wheel?
-
If I recall correctly, Typhoon, that pic is the result of a photoshop contest fark.com... The actual thing in the photo is some sort of pump-control console or something like that.

Figured as much. Good for a laugh anyway. I'll have to dig up my copy of an ad for a $10,000 386 computer...
-
Yep, it's a complete and total fabrication.
-
Guess we were ahead of the ball on that one, huh? Unlike those floating cars we were suposed to have by now

Geeze, I used a computer like that for my Fortran II lab (1967 if you must know).
And no, it didn't have a steering wheel on it.
-
It's the predecessor to Nintendo? Probably has tail fins on it somewhere.

Complete hoax.

According to snopes, the man is photoshopped in, and the console is that from a Submarine exhibit in the Smithsonian.

Heh! One of my Computer Science profs showed that photo during one of his lectures. He thought it was the real deal.
