He's got a whole cabinet to fill, and a whole lot of other positions.
The only one that's a given, I think, is that Merill McPeak, a close supporter and adviser, will get SecDef. Which will be an absolute disaster for the armed forces, but hey.
-
Well Colin Powell will have a seat somewhere. Just might be SecDef.
You might actually see an ambassadorship (sp) for Bill Clinton, just to get him out of the country.
-
There was a BBC report last month that suggested Oprah might be the Ambassador to the UK. Does that mean its time to invade you again? Would you be upset if we sacked DC?

Just try it, we'll be ready...
where can we meet to help?

At least they'll all get snazzy new uniforms.

Rahm Emmanual for Chief of Staff. He's a radical liberal activist in Chicago.
-
Frankly, I will be interested to watch this process. Obama sold himself as a uniter, a cross-party lines type of guy. His choices for senior staff positions will tell quickly how sincere he was.
-
I imagine Richardson will be in there somewhere.

Oh my god. You weren't kidding! :O
Obama Offers Rahm Emanuel Job of White House Chief of Staff
November 05, 2008 8:30 AM
ABC News has learned that President-elect Obama has offered the White House chief of staff job to Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill.
Emanuel, a knowledgeable source tells ABC News, has not yet given his answer. The sharp-tongued, sharp-elbowed, keenly intelligent veteran of the Clinton White House is said to have ambitions to some day be Speaker of the House. But he also has a keen sense of "duty."
Today on "Good Morning America" ABC's George Stephanopoulos reported Obama likes the fact that Emanuel "knows policy, knows politics, knows Capitol Hill" and has told associates that Emanuel would "have his back."
There is a tentative plan to announce Obama's chief of staff this week.

CHANGE! Already!

Where do you think he'll send Hillary?
-
Where do you think he'll send Hillary?
Ambassador to Kenya
-
Sharpton, and Jackson
Oh and don't forget that crook dailey
-
Oh, also, Rahm Emanuel, the likely Chief of Staff, was on the board of directors of Freddie Mac, where he opposed oversight and reform.
Is anyone surprised at all that this is how it's starting out? Anyone? At all?
CHANGE!
-
Liberals and Washington insiders. He will surround himself with many of the same old people who will do the same old crap. Except now he'll have both houses behind him, for the most part.
-
The usual list of far left loons, I mean after all the country just elected the most liberal member of the Senate. Oh how far conservative ideas and values have fallen.
Thompson, Huckabee, Romney, etc could have all done a better job of at least presenting conservative ideas, but we picked the 'maverick'- lol.
-
Franklin Raines would make a dandy sec of the treasury. Lots of financial experience.
-
William Ayers is available as czar of "re-education."
-

Not if you send me a snazzy red coat and promise to put Christopher Eccelston back as Doctor Who....
Wanna be Rezko gets nominated as Secretary of Treasury?...
-

Ooh-la-la, I bet he would like either France or Italy =D
-

Dunno if that will happen, though Tennant has left. Personally I'd like to see Chiwetel Ejiofor as the new Doctor (if for no other reason than Serenity), though I gather you lot have your claws in him now.
-
Remember, this is the same Rahm Emanuel from the Clinton administration who aggressively worked to ban even more "assault weapons" in 1997. As another staffer put it, “We are taking the law and bending it as far as we can to capture a whole new class of guns.”
-

Chiwetel Ejiofor.....now that's an intriguing choice.....I'd go for that...
Now when are you getting here with my red coat?....

AZ Governor Janet Napolitano was today named to Obama's "White House transition team" and is mentioned as a likely cabinet member. Her background makes it appear that she would be an actively anti-gun Attorney General. See http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/archive/local/86498.php (http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/archive/local/86498.php)
Prior to her election as Governor, Napolitano served as U.S. Attorney for Arizona and as Arizona’s first female Attorney General.
-
Obama is clearly shaping up to be another Clinton: a big media manager with little in the way of accomplishments to show to his supporters.
Washington insiders win the election again (who knew!)
-
Supreme Court apointees worry me more than cabinet appointees.

Yes, really! We are likely to see some very ugly confirmation processes with three Justices figured to retire, probably announcing shortly.

Oh, great - another "Janet" as AG :O

Well I sure as hope they're really ugly. If they aren't it'll probably mean the Republicans just rolled over and let a marxist onto the court.
-
Oh dear God, NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I freaking hate Napolitano.

Didn't she get in some trouble earlier this year or last year? I remember seeing something in the press negative about her.

Didn't seem to have affected his chief of staff pick.
This is going to be a rogue's gallery of insiders and slime, at this point.

What did you expect from a Chi-town political insider?....

I imagine the rest of Arizona will be happy to be rid of her.
-
And John Kerry is pushing to be Sec of State.
-

You can have her. =D
Sounds like we get Jan Brewer (R) as governor then.
Look out, illegals. We might put some state-level teeth into border enforcement if that's the case. As well as employers of illegals.
As long as Washington stays occupied with relatively harmless graft and ineffectual, we could have some progress here locally.

I'm wondering how long it will take Obama to "suggest" privately, Chicago-style and behind the scenes, to some of the conservative justices that they "retire"?

Scalia is an Italian from Chicago. He'd tell him "Nice Try..."
McPeak - SecDef
Kerry - Sec State
Dailey, Bill (Richie's Brother) SecTreas or Commerce
Ingrid Newkirk - Sec Ag (Wouldn't be surprised...)
Hillary - Ambassador to Antartica or Vatican City.
