Title: Firefox...a hitch in my giddyup.
Post by: Smith on October 17, 2005, 03:41:04 AM
I need a little help with Firefox if one of you experts can help me out.  The problem is on Suzuki's site, go to www.suzuki.com and then click "Motorcycles."  The page that is trying to load just cycles it's load process over and over and over but never finishes loading.  I'm not "just" trying to get to this page, but rather would like to fix whatever it is that is causing this so that I won't have the problem with any other places.

FWIW I'm using the cookie blocker extension called "Permit Cookies" so maybe that's it?  I have to intentionally allow cookies for specific sites the way I run my computer now.  (This is the way I want it.)

I'm not sure what the problem is.  I'm using Firefox and it works for me.  Just so you know, all it does is redirect you to this page:

Ok, well, I just clicked your link and it did the same thing (which is exactly what I expected).  I have to load that page in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.  Not sure why.

Smith, it does the same for me - tries to reload itself constantly.  I also have cookies disabled, so I suspect the site wants to set cookies, and if you don't let it, it re-tries constantly ad nauseam until you stop it.

Possibly, and I don't think Suzuki needs my cookies.

It does appear to be the cookies blocking. I turned cookie blocking off in Firefox 1.07 and the page popped right up.

That was the problem I was having getting on THR a few months ago.  You gotta tone down your security level on firefox.

What the heck is wrong with cookies? I think they're delicious.

No, really. Why block cookies?

I've got cookies enabled, loads up fine for me, Firefox 1.0.7, Linux 2.6.8.1-3-386
