This is hilarious.
Not only because of the fact that they are faking it, but look how awkward she is in that canoe
-
I saw that clip. Later on she went into the deep water, and she proved it by shoving the paddle in a foot or so, to try and salvage some semblence of respectibility.
Most news "reporting" today should be called disasters r us. I remeber thinking after Katrina, that news crew DROVE in there, why don't they drive those folks out rather than blather about how terrible the situation is?

dasmi
but look how awkward she is in that canoe
Maybe that's why they put her in two inches of water:)

She has no idea how to hold a paddle, that's fer sure...
too funny

I remember that. Even the commentator back in the studio was making fun or her during the broadcast. She tried to play it off by saying they wouldn't let her get out in the deep stuff due to safety concerns.
-
I'm not really sure that they were out to completely exagerate the depth of the water.
If she was in deep water, where the hell would the camera man be standing?
And let's face it, while she wasn't in a deep water zone, there were plenty of those in the local area.

"Fake but accurate"

Heck, I once tipped over a canoe in about a foot of water.

What I though was a hoot was the canoe incident occured right after NBC got through blasting Bush for his "staged" news conference with the troops in Iraq. Wasn't it NBC that used a pyrotechnic device to ignite a pickup truck in an attempt to demonstrate the dangers of the design of a gas tank?
