Title: Full Size "D" Targets?
Post by: AZRedhawk44 on April 23, 2009, 12:18:09 AM
I've got 3 of these full sized "D" targets, also called Dog targets, from a supply shipment a year ago for an Appleseed event  that fell through.

No one seems to be able to find a replacement vendor for them, and they are critical for being able to run full-distance events rather than the truncated 25 meter events with reduced targets.

They measure 39" wide by 36" tall and say on the bottom:

CENTER, TARGET REPAIR: RIFLE TARGET "D" PRONE (ARMY)

Anyone know of a vendor?

Bogie, you run a print shop...  What can you do?  I have 3 pristine ones (well... slightly folded)  from which a new batch of masters could be produced.

[Cartman]I say you replace the targets with hippies you pick up on the street, using back issues of The Village Voice as bait.[/Cartman]

Not 100 % sure, but these guys may have what you're looking for.

It doesn't appear that they have their online store up and running, but if they have the target you're after, you could try contacting them.

Redhawk, are the targets bullseye or human-shaped?

Have you tried the usual places such as Target Barn and Law Enforcement Targets?  What about the Appleseed people and website?

One of the high muckety mucks of the Appleseed group gets them run from a custom production shop... I'm looking for a source that is a bit more reliable than that and has them in stock all the time.

209:  The Pierce ones are too big and too generous with scoring.

Try these guys.

I don't know if they have what you looking for because I'm not sure what a "d" is.

These are "D" targets, but they are downsized for 100/200/300/400 yard simulations at 25 meters.

I want a life sized D target.

I want a life sized D target.

If you made those life-sized, they'd be a good silhouette representation of Marvin Monroe...

Close, but I need the scoring lines (3, 4, 5, V).

If Bogie can't, and I don't think he has a press big enough, let me know.

How many are you looking for?

Ideally looking for a regular vendor for them.

I'm trying to arrange for an Appleseed at Ben Avery using their High Power line for Sunday afternoon next year... I'll need several for each centerfire shooter.

For my own uses, I'm looking at merely a few dozen.  If I can find a consistent vendor and we find more full distance ranges for Appleseed events... hundreds or even a few thousand a year.  Depends on growth of the program and the number of full distance ranges available.

That's be tough for me...quantity is pretty small...I can ask around though....In my opinion, your best bet would be to find someone with a large format scanner who can then digitally print these...
