Here's a head scratcher for you...
Having dinner with friends last night at the sports bar near my house.
We're leaving, when Castle Key notices the neon sign in the drycleaner's window...
"ORGANIC DRY CLEANING"
OK.....
Which leads to the question...
What the )(%&*()*&$^*()* is "organic" dry cleaning?

They use only 100% pure H2O.

My uncle has owned several dry cleaning businesses over the years. Next time I talk to him, I'll try to remember to ask him.

It's the same thing as regular dry cleaning, they use the same chemicals.
I applaud the business sense of separating idiots from their money using a trendy method.

They have one of those where I live too. I have no idea. Chemistry seems to have changed since when I was a kid.

OK, I got smuhrt and decided to Google it.
Apparently, it's a pretty meaningless and in a lot of ways misleading claim.
The standard drycleaning solvent, Perc, is that everyone is worried about.
But, because Perc is a carbon-based compound, it is considered chemically "organic."
So, dry cleaners who use Perc can claim that they are "organic" dry cleaners and separate the hippy idiots from their cash.

Yup, it's all about the two subsets of the chemistry field: organic chemistry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_chemistry) and inorganic chemistry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inorganic_chemistry).
The substance used in dry cleaning is made of carbon and chlorine, which places it squarely into the organic branch of chemistry. Hence "organic" dry cleaning.

They probably ditched the "Green Dry Cleaning" sign after they realized that not many customers own green suits..

I wonder how long it's going to take before they come out with REAL 3-D on the new BD players.
By "real", I mean the IMAX kind of 3-D with LCD flicker-lens glasses and true right/left eyeline interleaving built into the film frames. BD 2.0 players have a USB 2.0 port so accessorizing with a wireless controller for the glasses would be no big deal (they'd have to figure out a way to idiot-proof the lens sync, but that shouldn't be too hard). Would be dynamite given the picture clarity of HD. Imagine a flyover of the Grand Canyon or a walk-through of Carlsbad Caverns!

The take your clothes out back, shake them out in the fresh air, put'em on hangars, cover it with plastic and charge you a premium price. Organic pressing means they've been hung up in a high humidity environment until the wrinkles fall out.
