Among the results on items the White House considers myths:

67 percent of respondents believe that wait times for health care services, such as surgery, will increase (91 percent of Republicans, 37 percent of Democrats, 72 percent of Independents).
About five out of 10 believe the federal government will become directly involved in making personal health care decisions (80 percent of Republicans, 25 percent of Democrats, 56 percent of Independents).
Roughly six out of 10 Americans believe taxpayers will be required to pay for abortions (78 percent of Republicans, 30 percent of Democrats, 58 percent of Independents)
46 percent believe reforms will result in health care coverage for all illegal immigrants (66 percent of Republicans, 29 percent of Democrats, 43 percent of Independents).
54 percent believe the public option will increase premiums for Americans with private health insurance (78 percent of Republicans, 28 percent of Democrats, 58 percent of Independents).
Five out of 10 think cuts will be made to Medicare in order to cover more Americans (66 percent of Republicans, 37 percent of Democrats, 44 percent of Independents).

Exactly.  These aren't "myths".  Most of them are true.  I could go through one by one, but you guys get the point.  I don't know how this gets on the main page of a major website.

I consider that really good news. Shows more people are coming to understand the MSM is the propaganda wing of the DNC and are ignoring their pathetic info-mercials masquerading as "news." About damn time.

Leftists may be dull-witted and unprincipled; they are, however, determined to bring the entire nation down to their level. They're very industrious after their own perverse fashion.

I try to stay up on the news.  I also listen to what the politicians say.  Most of those "myths" are not myths at all.

But, but, but, the White House says they are myths! Thus, as good citizens of the US, we need to follow what the White House says!

After all, look at how the press is stepping up to their duty to report what the government says is true! How can we as citizens do less!?

None of these are myths. They are just inconvenient truths.
Among the results on items the White House considers myths:

67 percent of respondents believe that wait times for health care services, such as surgery, will increase (91 percent of Republicans, 37 percent of Democrats, 72 percent of Independents).

I don’t know why it wouldn’t work this way here. It does everywhere else socialized medicine exists.

About five out of 10 believe the federal government will become directly involved in making personal health care decisions (80 percent of Republicans, 25 percent of Democrats, 56 percent of Independents).

Look at the VA booklet. The government will be recommending to you to die and get out of the way.
Roughly six out of 10 Americans believe taxpayers will be required to pay for abortions (78 percent of Republicans, 30 percent of Democrats, 58 percent of Independents)

My Senator, Barbara Mikulski, inserted the language in the Senate bill in committee.

Because of locality pricing, where you can’t discriminate against the fat smokers, etc, everyone else has to pay for them. That and the fact that the government won’t pay for their share, and private health insurers will pick up the bill, which will eventually price out the private insurers, just like the Dems want.

Five out of 10 think cuts will be made to Medicare in order to cover more Americans (66 percent of Republicans, 37 percent of Democrats, 44 percent of Independents).

They are already talking about the cuts from health care costs for the elderly. They want them to shut up and die quickly

They really only have to look at every other govt agency and service out there to realize that.

You might think the fire department could do it faster, but you really don't want them taking out the ax to get at the problem.  :)

The sad thing to me is that it is obvious that these nimrods are working overtime trying to convince everyone that the sky is not blue instead of trying to actually fix the problems with the current system or at least problems with their own proposals.  You might get away with that in Chicago or at a local level where no one is paying attention, but at the federal level, there are always people watching.

You guys are buying in to the common myths.  Reform will mean:
Everybody is covered.
Quality will increase.
Cost will drop, unless you can't afford it, in which case it will be free.
Your health plan will not be affected by federally subsidized competition.
Taxes will not increase, it will be funded by the rich.

Now what's so hard to understand?

Can you?

If you can, please do. It would make for great pamphlet and poster material which would help everyone else out as the protests and townhalls continue.

This post would be funny if it weren't exactly what obama seems to consider "debunking" the "myths."

Today they were playing a clip of his "debunking": "this bill doesn't give coverage to illegal aliens"

What he conveniently ignores is that it does say that if one family member is covered (ie: an anchor baby) then the rest of the family (ie: the illegal parents) are covered too.  Also, the socialists, i mean democrats, voted down an amendment that would require proof of identity to enroll in the system; something that you would think would be common sense.  The fact that they voted it down shows their true intentions.  If you're selling beer, but don't ask for ID from anyone, are you not allowing people under 21 to buy beer?
