Post by: drewtam on December 18, 2005, 02:05:18 PM
Hi all,
First Post!   at APS, regular lurker at THR. Got exciting news in my world...

Just graduated with my engineering degree at University of Illinios!

Anyway  just wanted to share and say hello.
Hopefully, I'll soon have a good paying job and become a member of the american gun nut club.

With your first paycheck I'll be needing a nice .380 mousegun of some sort.  I'll leave it up to you to decide which one.

Thanks everyone;

A little department called Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, the degree is called Engineering Mechanics. The first question everyone asks is "Whats the difference between that and Mech E ?"

The difference is we are more engineering science related, more on how to derive the governing equations. Good for R&D and other unique development and design, but not so good at designing things that have been done a thousand times already where its best just to use the standards.

shampoo banan....? ohhh Chambana...

Now the real learning starts and where you learn to depend on and assist others.

OK, in that case, here's a question that floored me a few postings back:

How do you calculate the pressure in a suppressor? >B^]

Congratulations on your BS.

I graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.  Part of the harassment was to take a course in mechanics.  I thought I'd lose my freakin' mind with that course.  I just could not get my mind around mechanics.  Gimme some of that electromagnetic field theory and I'm good to go, ut I am dumb as a stump about mechanics.

Hats off

Thats easy just solve the Navier-Stokes Equations. grin

OK, Mister Navier-Stokes... gimme a closed-form formula for the HK MP5K-PDW with the MK-9K screw-on suppressor. Your choice of ammo. Tongue
