Wow.
Went to a restaurant called Old Chicago yesterday and had Italian Nachos.
Deep-fried pasta chips made to look like tortilla chips. Mozarella. Pepperoni. Italian Sausage. Pepperoncini. Marinara dip.
Holy Yum, Batman. I expected to have a heart-attack on the spot, but wow, was it good!
-
That sounds like a full meal!
-
It was... we didn't order anything afterwards because we were stuffed. It was huge.
-
How many beers did you drink. Old Chicago usually has at least 110 choices.
-
Just one beer, two of 'em: Killian's.
Wasn't aware they were a big brew-type place. My trusty beers that I order when I'm at a new place are Killian's, Sam Adams and Fat Tire. 99% of bars have at least one of those.
-
Johnny Carino's does the Italian Nachos too....my wife is addicted to them....me too.... =D
-
Old Chicago is a GREAT restaurant. =)
-
We made Irish Nachos last weekend, if anybody wants a departure from Italian and Mexican versions. =D
-
Irish Nachos: Potatoes, killarney sauce, and what else?
-
My favorite is home made potato chips with cheese sauce.

Irish nachos? What do you do get drunk and pass out before you make them?

I don't think I can even guess what those consist of. I may look it up.

Slice potatoes w/skin into rounds, similar to cottage fries.
Deep-fry until crispy.
Place in skillet with sliced jalapenos and shredded Colby/Jack cheese, then bake in oven until gooey.

And I now have an idea for food after the movie tonight. =)
-
I think I just lost an artery looking at that.

That right there is a recipe for some excitement on the can!

WildAlaska has it right. That other stuff... no thanks.
I'll add: Poached pear with toasted blue cheese on a bed of wild greens.
-
I'm enjoying Malpeque oysters on the half shell and a tall glass of Yuengling fraft as I type.
-
"Fraft"......doh, I meant draft. Might have to call for a ride after this one.
