I find myself wishing we could trade Presidents with France. :O

Sarkozy Mocks Obama at UN Security Council: Hello, Big Media?
by Maura Flynn
One of my favorite features of the Newseum in Washington, DC is the daily display of newspaper front pages from around the world. Today, Canada’s National Post was a standout with Alex Spillius’ coverage of a clash between Presidents Obama and Sarkozy.

For reasons yet to be determined, the National Post appears to have de-linked their own front page story on their website. Mr. Spillius reported a similar (albeit watered-down) version in the UK’s Telegraph.
Obama: “We must never stop until we see the day when nuclear arms have been banished from the face of the earth.”
Sarkozy: “We live in the real world, not the virtual world. And the real world expects us to take decisions.”
The rest of Sarkozy’s remarks were, well, remarkable:
“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.
“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.
“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map,” he continued, referring to Israel.
The sharp-tongued French leader even implied that Mr Obama’s resolution 1887 had used up valuable diplomatic energy.
“If we have courage to impose sanctions together it will lend viability to our commitment to reduce our own weapons and to making a world without nuke weapons,” he said.
Mr Sarkozy has previously called the US president’s disarmament crusade “naive.”

We must never stop until we see the day when this sort of lunacy is recognized as the talk of evil men who must never wield power.

I'm not sure it's evil. Extremely naive and potentially dangerous, but not necessarily evil.

It wouldn't be evil if there weren't a few countries—North Korea and Pakistan come to mind—with nuclear weapons and madmen in charge.
-
When nuclear weapons are outlawed, only outlaws will have nuclear weapons. ;)
Now get this: the French are saying that we are wimps :O

Worse, they're right.

No. This kind of "pacifism" is evil. It engenders bloodshed. The president is not a child. He's not mentally retarded. He doesn't have an excuse not to understand that disarmament of the good guys is anything but an open invitation to the violent.
Haven't we given them enough benefit of the doubt? These people are as sick and cruel as any regime you can name.
-

No, the leadership is a bunch of wimps. The American soldier will fight whatever battle they are called to.

It is a sad, sad day when the French call us wimps.
But why can't we all sit around the campfire holding hands and singing Kumbaya? ;/

Right, no moral difference between being a pacifist wuss and murdering tens of millions of your own citizens. ;/
I'm as down on the Obama cult as anyone, but he's not Mao or Stalin. Not yet anyway.

And who is responsible for our current leadership?
We are.

"Not yet" indeed. Obama believes the same things as Mao and Stalin, and he has the same destination in mind for us all. The only real distinction between them is the timing.
Myself, I'd like to turn the this train around before it pulls into that station.

Abortion. This isn't about Obama. This is about an entire movement and what it has done, and plans to do, to our country. And by the by, most of them are members of the party of slavery, segregation and Jim Crow. So...
-
True enough. I just like to keep the Communist Socialist distinction. Same goal, different methods.
-
At least Stalin was trying to make his country strong.
-
Sarkozy has his own troubles. I wouldn't exactly call France's future bright when an increasing number of its neighborhoods are impassable and car-burning has become one of the national pastimes.

True, Lord knows he ain't perfect. It mostly shows how bad Obama and Co. are.

When acting on one's naivete has the potential to kill millions of people, it becomes evil.
-

Thank you for understanding this. What blows my mind over the current evil regime, is that not only are they using evil means, their apparent end goals aren't stability and economic might. It's the ruin of their own country.
-
If it makes you feel better, Sarkozy is a god awful president himself.
I don't know which is worse: seeing the candidate from the other party win and
hopping for the 4 years (5 in our case) to be over without too much dammage or help your own representive
win just to watch him skrew up every single issue he was going to fix before being elected.
Talking about WMD from rogue countries like Iran and critizising our most important allies whilst being
absolutely unable to control our own rogue part of the population is ridiculous.
I wish Ahmadinejad would sit in an earthhole waiting to meet Saddam's fate instead of branding "A world without Israel" signs at
his party rallies.

It's JUST the leg... If he wasn't self-employed/self-insured, he'd have gotten a human one.

Naw. I would have gotten a human brain first.
