Found these two pictures on my interweb travels. Anyone know what it is? Kind of like a pepperbox, but a rifle instead of a pistol.

It's... heavy.

Not sure, but I believe the term is "volley gun". Aptly named. =D They had something in one of the NRA publications about them many moons ago.
Didn't know they made them that big, though...
G98 will be along to set us straight, I'm sure. ;)

Puckle's defense gun

The buttplate doesn't look too comfy.

Looks like an early 1700s wall defense volley gun. A group of someones come in close, boom. Repeatedly.

Volley guns are supposed to be comforting, not comfortable.

Something from a Final Fantasy game?

No, it needs a 400 pound sword attached to it also to qualify for a SquareSoft weapon.

Almost looks like what Jim Bowie (as played by Richard Widmark) carried in the original version of "The Alamo", with John Wayne.
http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3886286105/ at about 2:18 you can see it.

The square bullets are only for Turks. Christians/Europeans rate nice round bullets.
