So... we're all big strapping man's men that drink our camping coffee, Turkish style, and chew the grounds stoically. =D
That being said... what's your favorite stuff to put in coffee?
This week, I've been on a condensed milk kick. Got turned onto it by a vietnamese girlfriend back in college and I probably crack a can of condensed milk once a year. I usually get through about half the can before I get tired of it, though. It's really sweet.
My mom makes some REALLY great kahlua. She gives a bottle to everyone "of age" each year for Christmas.
I tend to not do the whiskey thing. I drink coffee in the morning and I don't like the idea of breaking open "real" alcohol that early. Kahlua is one thing... whiskey another.
What about the rest of APS? Any neat coffee additives?
-
Pretty plain here... just milk and sugar.
-
Okay, I'll be non-manly. I use non-fat half & half and Stevia. I just got a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas and have actually shelved the French Press. They make a K-cup by Coffee people called "Donut Shop", and that plus my additives is just like having Dunkin' Donuts coffee (which we don't have here) in the morning.
-
Black at home
French Vanilla for gas station coffee
Non dairy creamer at work
-
what's your favorite stuff to put in coffee?
Water ;)
-
Got a Keurig a few months ago. I like the Donut Shop coffee also. The Timothy's Italian Blend and the Van Houtte Columbian are my current favorites however.
My normal additive is half&half, but I have been known to throw a splash of Bailey's Irish Cream in on occasion. =D
-
First off I start off with fresh ground, then I "ruin it" ,according to some, with coffee mate.
I've been hooked on their Creme Brulee flavor for some time.. although the new chocolate toffee is really good.
Especially when I blend the CB and CT together. I prefer my first cup sweeter than the following two.
I'm also a fan of just straight half and half with a tad bit of sugar.
My manliness shines when I munch on straight beans, especially when they are coated with chocolate :)
The only coffee I ENJOY black is fresh roasted fresh ground.
-

I've been experimenting and though I don't want to have to admit it because of the marketing gimmick, "Newman's Own" Extra Bold is also a REALLY great cup of coffee.
Also Coffee People's Jet Fuel if you want a quick pick-me-up. :)
-
Usually black. Sometimes (33%) with a dollop of heavy cream. I'll have to try the condensed milk.
If it's the nasti stuff from the devils-lung coffee pot at work, I might pour in some granulated sugar.
IMO, a good cup of coffee needs nothing.
-
A bit of sugar and Hazelnut creamer. On some occasions, Bailey's :)
-
Whole milk, from a little up to cafe au lait (1/2 milk). The stronger the coffee, the more milk I can tolerate.
-
When I was in AU, I developed a serious jonez for iced coffee

Guilty of Coffeemate here. Usually French Vanilla. I prefer a little sugar, but somehow I'm too lazy to add sugar. I mean, it requires the use of a spoon.
Wow, I sound really lazy.
Someday when I have more time, I'll start making vanilla sugar to add to my coffee with half and half.
Occasionally cafe au lait, but only when I want to have some real food (to the extent milk qualifies as real food) with my coffee. Cafe au lait with beignet on my upcoming New Orleans trip.
-
I drink my coffee black. The wife fills her cup 90% with International Delight french vanilla creamer, and adds a few drops of coffee for color.
-
I like my coffee the way I like my women: hot, strong and black. Ms. MillCreek keeps pointing out that she is Caucasian, but I tell her that I just shut my eyes and pretend.
-
hot, strong and black
I saw that coming, and am surprised it took so long.
-
I was waiting for "ground up and in the freezer" but I think we are trying to be more high road than that!
-
But I actually do take my drip or press coffee black. I have been enjoying some eggnog lattes for the past month while the eggnog is out.
-
what's your favorite stuff to put in coffee?
Half and half and chocolate syrup.
I like my women: hot, strong and black. Ms. MillCreek keeps pointing out that she is Caucasian,
<shrug>. I see no necessary contradiction here.

I like cheap diner coffee, black... maybe a smidge of sugar if I'm feeling wild.
-
I've got some egg nog left over from Christmas. I wonder how that would taste added to coffee?
Oops, that's what I get for not reading all the posts. I missed your's about the eggnog, MillCreek.
-
In my Keurig, Green Mountain Columbian Fair Trade Select. Black.
-
Usually black. Occasionally, instant cocoa is the bomm.
-
At home, I take my coffee black.
At work, I'll cut the nasty icky starbucks bitterness with some sucrose and a dash of sodium chloride.
When camping, the coffee is dosed with a healthy shot of Barenjager or Navan liqueur.
-
I like my coffee the way I like my women: hot, strong and black.
You beat me to it....but I'm gonna do it anyway....
I like my coffee like I like my women....HOT, STRONG, DARK, AND FULL OF SUGAR... >:D
(....and my wife is all but the dark part....guess I'll get her a tanning membership.... ;) )
...but occasionally I'll add a pack of hot cocoa mix to my coffee....just for something different....
-
Milk and brown sugar.
If I'm adding a little something to make my day more pleasant, a shot of Disaronno.
-
Cardamom. I acquired the habit from a ninety-something Yemeni gentleman who also hooked me on Yemeni Moka. If you haven't any cardamom already, note when shopping that the bright white pods have been bleached and bleaching can diminish quality. If you get to open a sample pod before buying, try to find seeds that are black and oily. I have had excellent luck with cardamom from India and Guatemala: far better than the bleached Spice Island or Schilling stuff and at an eighth to a tenth the price. Try Indian, Pakistani, and southeast Asian groceries.
To put into coffee, I also favor the cheaper Irish whiskeys, aged black rums (Old Monk 7 year old from India is a current favorite,) and brandies (Paul Masson VS is surprisingly drinkable for the price.) Higher grade liquors go into snifters on the side, of course.
-
Honey can be quite a good additive.
-
Normal everyday: Farmers Market Coffee & Chicory, nothing added.
On occasion, a shot of Jameson or a dolop of Grandmas molasses.
-
TallPine beat me to it.
I will occasionally add a couple grains of salt to coffee made with Starbuck's just to cut the burnt, bitter taste.
-
Double measure of coffee, FFFg, and roofing nails. I hate it when I wake up in a good mood.

Cardamom is good stuff in coffee, especially if your preference is to drink it black.
-
Good coffee is taken black, most stuff is heavily laced with whatever is available. Whole milk and unrefined (turbinado?) sugar being my preference, although back in my
more stupid younger days large amounts of white sugar and Irish Cream or French Vanilla creamer was the order of the day. Over compensation for the fact that my first coffee experience was a straight, unadulterated double shot of espresso. Not a gentle introduction. ;) Still not a bad choice for awful coffee or a generic coffee-ish means of caffeine delivery. Rather like the difference between Guinness and domestic horse piss looking "lite beer" alcohol delivery systems. Must try that cardamom sometime.
-
I put one spoon of sugar in my coffee.
I have been using Florida Crystals/Turbinado/Sugar in the Raw in my coffee lately. I think it has more flavor than plain white sugar and adds a nice flavor.
-
Usually black with LOTS of Splenda/sucralose. My daughter brought back some Jamaica Green Mountain beans from Montego bay, and it's really good, but not as really good as I remember it to be from years back. I'll go back to my good ol Eight O'Clock Colombian, when these beans are done.
-
I drink real coffee..............strong and black. On weekends, a shot of rye in it takes the edge off......chris3
-
In the morning I have some black coffee right out of the coffee press. I pour out the excess from the press and save for later. In the afternoon I'll usually have a roughly half and half mixture of coffe and milked poured over ice with a shot of vanilla syrup.
I also add about a tsp of salt to my coffee press coffee to take some of the edge off.
-
Black, usually.
If it's super strong and bitter, I'll add cream to tame it a bit.
-
Ususally black.
Every once in awhile I will add a packet of hot chocolate mix.
-
I don't drink coffee habitually. I like my coffee black, but, I don't like it strong. I often water down truck-stop coffee 50% or more. If I'm drinking coffee by itself, I may add some sugar, but typically the sugar is provided by the donut etc. I'll only drink coffee by itself if I'm really cold, really sleepy, etc.
-
Splenda and heavy cream.
-
A fork.
-
Oooh, you wins.
-
Hey, I never won a thread before! Here's another:
I like my coffee like I like my women: black and bitter.
-
A fork.
Is that how you know it's done?
-
That's how you know it's strong enough.
-
(....and my wife is all but the dark part....guess I'll get her a tanning membership.... ;) )
That will soon be taxed. (The tanning that is!)
