Title: J.D. Hayworth Gearing Up For Senate Race
Post by: Sergeant Bob on January 07, 2010, 04:23:05 PM
I don't know but, this seems like a win/win (losing McCain/gaining J.D.) for the people of Arizona and the U.S.
Maybe if we could get J.C. Watts to run against Ben (geez, I guess we should have been concentrating on the economy instead of a socialistic, budget busting, America degrading health care rationing system) Nelson?

I guess that would be a win/win/win/win?  =D

Hayworth.jpgEx-Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R) is seriously exploring a bid against Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), according to sources with knowledge of his plans.

Hayworth has been in touch with consultants to gauge their interest in working for his potential candidacy, and he has made several high-profile appearances of late. That indicates the buzz about a bid is more than just a ploy to pay off old legal debts, as many AZ politicos had suspected.

"Hayworth's biggest obstacle is his personal finances, but being in the U.S. Senate is a lifelong pursuit for him," said one GOPer familiar with AZ politics. "I'd be surprised if he didn't run."

Hayworth lost his seat to Rep. Harry Mitchell (D) in the '06 Dem wave. But in recent months, he's made several indications he may challenge McCain. Hayworth uses his daily radio show to lambast McCain regularly, and one public poll, from Rasmussen, indicated he could have a chance if he ran.

The few times I saw Hayworth on TV I liked what he said . . . can anyone from AZ shed some light on why he lost his seat in the House?

As much as I hate McCain, this would be a bad move.

McCain already has another 2 primary contenders:  Jim Deakin, and Chris Simcox.

Deakin appears to be a populist RINO similar to McCain, from my exposure to him.  He favors such things as not prosecuting people who salvage copper wire from their foreclosed houses because "they're facing hard times."

Simcox is an embezzling weasel who stole hundreds of thousands of dollars, in collusion with Carmen Mercer, of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.  Oh yeah:  He's also had a restraining order against him by his wife and son for domestic assault and battery.

But, both are gaining attention from the "anyone but McCain camp" and JD will have to overcome both of them as well as McCain in a primary.

JD would be smarter to run against or supposed "Republican" governor, Jan Brewer.  Former Secretary of State, she became governor when Napolitano went to DC to run DHS.

Even though the state is upside down in a bad way, Brewer wants to raise taxes rather than cut spending.  Legislature is in a serious mood to drastically cut spending.  I'm always one to believe in cutting spending before raising taxes.

Oh, and she's an education princess.  I hate that.  One of those people that can never even contemplate cutting education spending.  Constantly wanting to throw more money at it, even though the money never ends up actually in the classroom and usually ends up funding some BS bureaucratic study on the education process that ties teachers' hands even more than before.

JD, run for Governor.

False accusations, late in the campaign, of accepting bribes from whats-his-name that was all big news in 2006.  That lobbyist guy that had handouts for everyone's votes.  Jack Abramoff.

Yup!.  As I stare into my morning cup of tea pondering the leaves arrangement at the bottom I am ever so slowly coming to the conclusion that the future of meaningful politics lies at the state level and not with the federales.  Used to be called states right but that term was bastardized in the 60's.  Now it has a number of different descriptors such as sovereignty movement, 10th amendment movement, nullification and so forth.  Here and there we see states enacting legislation which would effectively nullify federal law.  If I am correct we will need creative leadership at the state level.

It would send the perfect message to all the right RINOS & Republican functionaries if JD could claim McCain's scalp.

Except we'd be trading a RINO for a neocon.

JD's a statist of a different stripe than McCain, but he's still a statist.  Listen between the lines to his show.  Anything to win the war on terror, anything to win the war on drugs, certain types of free speech are not protected, he approves of "approved protest zones" at conventions and such... stuff like that.

The reason I want him to run for Governor instead of Senate, is his "enforcement" attitude could be well honed towards AZ DPS enforcement of the border.  He at least has an acceptable attitude towards illegal immigration.

But, putting him in the Senate would wind up with him voting for Patriot Acts and McCain/Feingold Acts and other statist controls, just like McCain.

We have to be careful during this new conservative revolution that we don't put the same schmucks back in that got bumped in 2006.  Or else we'll just get riled up by them again and put a bunch of libs in, in anger.

JD is suited to be an executive officer in a position like Governor.  I don't like him as a Senator.

KFYI Radio (Barry Young Show) just said McCain supports Cap and Trade.

OK, JD.  I'll put up with you in the Senate.  I'll write and harass you over your neocon statism to try and keep it in check.  But for the love of God, there can be no Cap and Trade.
