DEVELOPING: Several people reportedly were shot Friday on the campus of the University of Alabama-Huntsville, though details about victims and shooter weren't immediately available.
Police may have a shooter in custody, Al.com reported, though no announcements have been made. As many as 10 people were reported shot. Their condition is unknown.
This is a developing story. Please click refresh for updates.
I've heard it is a woman shooter. That's a first, as far as I know.
-
MSNBC is reporting that two people are in custody, and the alleged shooter is a biology professor upset that she was denied tenure. The shooting apparently happened during a department faculty meeting.

???
I thought professors were our moral and ethical superiors, and incapable of wrong?
Or, was that just police?
Regardless, they've been proven fallible just like any other person. More ammo for the campus carry issue, unfortunately.

Third to the best of my knowledge but it is still a pretty rare crime for a woman.
The other two I'm aware of-
Brenda Ann Spencer carried out a shooting spree at Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California on January 29, 1979, killing two and injuring nine others.
Feburary 2008 in LA- A 23-year-old woman killed two fellow students with a .357 revolver in a classroom at a vocational college Friday, then committed suicide, police said.

Is it me or does the nutty professor seem to be getting a bit of slack from the media?
I know if it was a student who went whacko, especially after "accidentally" shooting and killing a family member several years earlier, we'd be hearing about it for three months straight and then pretty often afterwards.

CNN ain't cutting her much slack:

Sheesh.
She's GOT to be looney-tunes. No one has that many accidental brushes with mortality and firearms and bombs.
I'm especially confounded by the shotgun incident in her youth, where she discharged the shotgun once in her bedroom, then came downstairs for help to unload it, and shot her brother.

And the mother claimed to have been in the house at the time, and heard nothing. ???

People have not the slightest clue just HOW crazy people in academia are.

The referred "LA" is Louisiana, not The City of Angels on the west coast. Sorry for the confusion.

No dissagrement there. There is a self selecting principle that those who can't function in the "real world" wind up there.

Or in the government.

So, it appears she's an Obama Looney-tune.

A family source said Bishop, a mother of four children - the youngest a third-grade boy - was a far-left political extremist who was “obsessed” with President Obama to the point of being off-putting.
I don't see a Constitutional guarantee to the right to support Obama... I think we should ban him.
