I can see this becoming the theme song of the Tea Party folks this summer.
Cue offended black hustler in 3...2...1...
TC

if the tea party tries to use it, the media will misspell it and the negger will hit the fan. =D

At first I was like:
Calling the first black president a "reneger" is just FAIL.
But then I was like:
They call us racists, anyway, so let's just egg them on. =D
Did you know it's even racist to call him a professor (http://volokh.com/2010/02/10/calling-obama-a-professor-is-a-thinly-veiled-attack-on-obamas-race/)? I kid not.
Ogletree, founding and executive director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice, says he sees the “professor” label as a thinly veiled attack on Obama’s race. Calling Obama “the professor” walks dangerously close to labeling him “uppity,” a term with racial overtones that has surfaced in the political arena before, Ogletree said....
-
How much do we have to pay to get Joe Wilson to stand up in Congress and shout "You Reneger!" the next time Obama is talking there?
-
It'll be pulled.

It'll be pulled.
From YouTube? That's nice, I just ripped an HD file from there, all 74.4mB. I'll be uploading it if the original goes anywhere. =D
-
i think the use of "reneger" was intentionally chosen for reasons other than its meaning and find that in very bad taste.

see that's exactly what i was predicting. [popcorn] i guess i be a profit, we're screwed. [tinfoil]

I think we need to ban the use of any word that "homophonetic" with anything that might be confused by the ignorant as being a racist term. In fact the term homophone probably hould be eliminated form the language so as to prevent offending homosexuals.
Personally, I think the video is funny a hell.

Oh, I don't think it was bad taste. I think the term was advisedly chosen, to bait the race-baiters of the Left. At this point, we have nothing to lose - might as well work the other side into a froth. Besides, the Reneger's AG told us we were a nation of cowards on the race issue, so let's push the boundaries, start some dialogue, etc.

Hey, new word "Homophonetic"â„¢. I'll make millions I tell ya! =D

Best of luck with that. Apparently "Socialist" = N-word, and "Professor" = Uppity N-word. Hell, if you found some manner to use the term "surgical autoclave" to criticize this charlie-foxtrot of an administration it would soon be equated with racism.
The simple fact is that without logic nor fact to provide cover for their actions they will make every attempt to incite an emotional response (which has an extremely strong and proven tendency to override rational thought) to deflect criticism, and one of the simplest and most readily available currently is to malign their opponents as racist.
ETA: I was sent a very polite PM that a certain particular choice of vernacular was inappropriate for this venue. It has been replaced with a bit of militerese. Sorry for that slip up, sometimes when I get writing on public forums I forget that I'm no longer addressing a primarily mil/vet crowd that is more at ease with such language.

The squirrel speaks true.

When I was a kid, I seem to remember watching a western on tv called "The Lone Reneger." Good show.
That was a long time ago, though, and I might have some of my facts wrong. It might have been a comedy.

The squirrel speaks true.
He tends to. ;)

A few years back, I might have looked at teh video with disapproval.
But, there have been too many race cards thrown for me to worry if some semi-literate ignoramus takes it the wrong way.

Our agreement is almost perfect; I hope they DO take it the wrong way. Makes them look stupid. Makes me feel amused.

Remember the kerfluffle over the word Niggardly? Didn't somebody have to resign from some pretty good job over that. Don't remember the whole story.
I just love when the PC crowd gets uppity. [popcorn]
Oops, I just remembered....I was in the Family and Farm store a month or so ago buying bird seed. I noticed they don't call niger seed by it's appropriate name any more....now the bags are labeled "Finch Seed". [barf]

That's very amusing and reminds me of the dinosaur crowd - one is now pronounced "nee-sher-saurus". Spelled Nigersaurus. =D

Is it racist for me to call myself professor?

it's all a matter of who you want to give your money to. [popcorn] (http://www.google.com/products?q=niger%20seed&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf)

Yup. Bad taste is the standard these days, and to be honest, the manufactured outrage frees me to laugh. :)

Exactly.
Is it racist for me to call myself professor?
Not racist, but blasphemous. There is only the One.

Sadly, true.
Expect to see a movement to rename it either "Swarthy" or "Land of the Glider People Who Mastered Flight Before Columbus Did," or LGPWMFBCD for short (pronounced "elguhpwuhemfbickduh").

back in late 60's they had to stop calling fixture in machine shop "jigs" union shop

There was some discussion of that during the Joe Wilson circus trial. TV/radio folks were calling it nee-jair.
