I know there's some Joss Whedon fans here (writer, director of Dollhouse) and wanted to turn you guys on to Dr. Horrible's Sing Along blog. Yes it is a musical, but this is coming from someone who HATES musicals; I loved it. Joss funded this on his own during the 2008 writers strike and him, his brothers, and wife pretty much put this together themselves. I noticed it on Netflix instant watch and decided to give it a try last weekend and have watched it three time since. I hear its on Itunes, Hulu, and the dvds are for sale.

we watched it here as it appeared the summer of 2008

Has it been that long? dang. Time flies...

Since when is Joss Whedon known for being the director of Dollhouse? Ahem, Firefly anyone?
-
If he's just discovering Dr Horrible, who knows if he's seen Firefly... :O

Unpossible. You can't be on APS and not have seen Firefly.
-
I think you're confusing Firefly with Zardoz.

You're going to the special hell for that one.

Get a rope.

Stop "meaning to" and watch Firefly already.
At least watch the first one, and see if you like it (if you're on here, you probably will).
I'd heard about it for a couple of years, and once I started watching one, I watched three more later that night. I tried to pace myself to no more than two of them a night so I could make them last longer.
Of course four more the next night.
And I finished off the rest of the series the third night.
Then I waited impatiently for the next few months until Serenity came out.
And as soon as I heard about Dr. Horrible, I waited for it to be released.
Loved it.
I haven't finished Dollhouse yet, but soon.

Get thee to the local video place, or log on to your Netflix queue, or whatever you have to do, and get Firefly and Serenity RIGHT NOW. If you liked Whedon's stuff, you won't be disappointed, I think.
... he says hypocritically, not having seen Dr. Horrible yet (yeah, I keep meaning to... ;/ =D).

Saw part of it a few months ago. Pretty funny. If you like Doogie, watch Undercover Brother.
More importantly, the girl was cute. http://www.youtube.com/watchtheguild

Felicia Day: a girl so hot, funny, and nerdy, both me and my wife have a crush on her. And she's a violin prodigy, too. <3

Yea I'm a huge fan of The Guild. If you've ever played a MMOG and haven't seen the Guild yet you need to check it out. It was written and created by Felicia Day, loves her!
Do you wana date my avatar?

You can watch Firefly and Serenity for free on Hulu.

If you've ever MET someone who plays MMOG, you will find The Guild hilarious. Plus, if you merely observe the insanity of MMOG, or any gaming really, you can combine hilarity and smugness. =D

No, I am not angry with you. I pity you(1). And envy you(2).
(1) Because you haven't seen FF/S

I never played a MMOG, but I played ink & paper games for years and I still got most of the jokes in the linked video.
"Order of the Stick" in pixels.

Joss Whedon Fans, have you seen Dr. Horrible?
I saw it a few months back. I’m in no way interested in musicals normally, but this had 1) great reviews on the Whedon sites, 2) Joss Whedon writing it; 3) Nathan Fillion in it; and 4) Felicia Day in it. I wasn’t aware of Felicia Day until I saw Epitaph One and Epitaph Two episodes of Dollhouse.
And if you’re worried about it being a musical, the whole thing only lasts about 40 minutes, so you will bear up easily. The songs were actually very funny, with an interesting meter.
once I started watching one, I watched three more later that night. I tried to pace myself to no more than two of them a night so I could make them last longer.
Of course four more the next night.

THAT’S the spirit !

And Goblins http://goblins.keenspot.com/
and Erfworld http://www.erfworld.com/
That explicitly use gaming conventions then there's "Looking for Group" and "Darths and Droids" that are gaming related...

I reallllly didn't like Erfworld when it came out. Does it ever get any better?
