Baffled by Health Plan? Some Lawmakers Also Seem None Too Clear
By ROBERT PEAR

WASHINGTON — It is often said that the new health care law will affect almost every American in some way. And, perhaps fittingly if unintentionally, no one may be more affected than members of Congress themselves.

In a new report, the Congressional Research Service says the law may have significant unintended consequences for the “personal health insurance coverage” of senators, representatives and their staff members.

For example, it says, the law may “remove members of Congress and Congressional staff” from their current coverage, in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, before any alternatives are available.

The confusion raises the inevitable question: If they did not know exactly what they were doing to themselves, did lawmakers who wrote and passed the bill fully grasp the details of how it would influence the lives of other Americans?

More at the link.

I think all I've got to say is

I've also got to wonder what other "revelations" are going to come out of this monstrosity.

Drunk, but not braindead?  Too bad.  If you're both, you get life tenure as a Massachusetts Senator.

I always thought it would be fun if some PO'd lawmaker were to sneak something fun into one of those ridiculously large bills.

All congress critters must dye hair green for st patricks day or something similar. Just to demonstrate the idiocy of voting on a massive bill you haven't read.

My version of fun involves a guillotine.

Okay, so we all know how fast the .gov is in setting things up.

The new exchanges do not have to be in operation until 2014.

The White House said last month that Mr. Obama would voluntarily participate in the health insurance exchange, though the law does not require him or other administration officials to do so. His participation as president may depend on his getting re-elected in 2012.
I really hope the general populous doesn't fall for the line, well the POTUS is participating in the new health care plan, that we know will be brought out for his re-election.
