First, Sarah Palin was lambasted (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/max-blumenthal/the-witch-hunter-anoints_b_128805.html) for courting the witch-hunter vote.
Then, Christine O'Donnell was mocked (http://gawker.com/5641653/christine-odonnell-was-a-teen-witch) for being too friendly with witches.
And now this (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/10/13/michelle_obama_it_means_the_world_that_there_are_prayer_circles_out_there.html): Michelle Obama thanks "prayer circles" for "keeping the spirits clean around us."
To be honest, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with witchcraft. Like a full double rainbow, I'm sure it must mean something, but I don't know what.

Witchcraft: comment retracted by owner

They turned me into a newt.

I got better.

Well, Hillary used to communicate with the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt . . .
-
I really think that Sara should next court the Van Helsing/Buffy vote next.

If a Wiccan was attempting to become canonized within the Catholic church, or become the Pope, I would oppose such a move.
If they're the best candidate running for a governmental office, though, their religion doesn't bother me.
Same thing goes for actors and musicians spouting nonsense about their political beliefs. I pay them for their entertainment value, not their stance. I like U2's music, but I almost never agree with their political motives.

But seriously, where does she get this stuff about "keeping spirits clean"? ???

Maybe she means that they now only serve neat drinks.
This is contrasted with a drink served neat – a single, unmixed liquor served without any water, ice, or other mixer.[2] Neat drinks and rocks drinks are often served in a rocks glass but may be served in a shot glass or cocktail glass.
p.s. Tommy you beat me to it.

didn't you know that the halliburton weather machine is powered by un clean spirits?

Witchcraft: Absolute crap perpetuated by morons.
RKL,
Some of what members of my congregation do is considered witchcraft (depending upon whose definition you use). Some of what I do as part of my religious/philosophical path is considered witchcraft (again, depending upon whose definition you use).
Everyone's belief system is malarkey to someone. I would appreciate it if your derision of me and mine were at least civil in tone.
And since you don't know what we do, you speak from a place of ignorance.

On the first two, I think people are going to attack the opposition for anything they can get their hands on.
On the last, I don't know what to think. The commentary I heard was questions where that stuff can be found in Christianity.
On politics in general, there are so many Christians that have beliefs I consider questionable or who have no problem with lying, cheating, and stealing that I don't really pay much attention to religious convictions. If I can trust the person to do what they say they are going to do, I can probably support them.

Not witchcraft, but pretty much the same thing as the first two mentioned above.

I'll take the high road approach that you're talking about the MSM mud slinging. Not, you know, the folks who practice witchcraft around here. Anyways, if Christine O'Donnell dabbled in it when she was a teen, so what? That's what those years are for. Experimenting to find out who you really are.
Oh, and I hung out with BP's congregation. Nice folks. If you change the rituals involved, it'd be any low key tolerant religious group. Hence why I did not participate in said rituals. Wouldn't want them to become Khorne cultists or anything, accidentally. =D

Seems Tuco didn't. He still looks like an old lefty reptile. Or his icon does.

This. The religion of a politician is far, far down on my list of important things. Character and their actual positions on issues are far more important to me in a politician.

I say we weigh them if someone wants to make a big ol' fuss.
If they weigh less than a duck, burn them as witches. If they weigh more than a duck, burn the fussbudget.
This kind of duck:

I don't even have a TV, but even I have seen enough of the spooky-music/slow-motion/negative-photo ads. They just all look like spoofs now.

Out of respect for my fellow forum members I have retracted my previous comment.
