All I get, if I'm lucky, is a big blank black space where the video part is supposed to be. The border & other parts are there, but no video-part.
If I'm unlucky I just get a blank space. Nothing. Nada. Zip.
And yet there are times when I go to a video linked at some site and there it is, in all it;s splendor.
Being a non-geek, I need to know 1) what's busted/broke/not working, and 2) what can I try short of opening up the back of the box of wires and pulling something out to put a new something in?
THanks.
stay safe.

Sounds like flash is not installed, maybe?

Another possibility: Sometimes ad-blocking extensions/plugins block the wrong things on Youtube, resulting in disabled videos.

Along the same lines I've been having a problem with YouTube also.
I cannot watch it in full screen mode, the screen goes black with a vertical green line on the left side. The sound continues playing normal and I can toggle back to the regular view using the Esc button. I can watch videos in full screen mode using WMP with no issues.

Don't know what it was.
Turned the machine off, opened it in safe mode & ran all the anti-this&that. It works again.
