Title: Michael Moore: People own guns because they're racist?

Or should we be less prepared to defend ourselves from poor people? That's the really funny part, isn't it? Usually, the conservative says that crime causes poverty, and the leftist argues that poverty causes good people to resort to crime. I guess Moore doesn't see any connection at all. Never got the memo.

I'm afraid of two things:
1. Meth-heads or other drug users looking for pawn fodder for their next fix;
2. Socialists. Either organized ones directing other people's guns (politicians that control cops/military), or disorganized ones (envious people looking to score off of me by assuming I am an easy mark).

If the libs would stop trying to turn blacks and mexicans into #2, there'd be near-perfect racial harmony.

ETA: When the mental image of some low-life crawling through my dog-door into my home springs into my mind's eye, it always looks vaguely like Jesse Pinkman from "Breaking Bad."

As usual, follow the money. Moore's not stupid. There's big bucks in what he does, just as there is for Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Bill Mahr, and other leftist luminaries.

I'll use a local example. In Wisconsin is a group called the "Wisconsin Anti Violence Effort", or WAVE.

Jeri Bonavia is the head of WAVE, and has been for many years. Near as I can tell she doesn't do much. A speech here or there, a demonstration (100's of shoes in front of a public building to represent "gun violence" victims)...that sort of thing. When we were pushing for CCW in WI, I saw her at the capitol, and it was pretty obvious that she didn't spend time there lobbying, as she didn't know where anything was.

Anywho, WAVE has a 501c3 arm called the WAVE Educational Fund. It's basically where the money comes from for Bonavia and a couple of others.

I got the groups tax return for 2001 several years back. It showed Bonavia getting $54,000 a year, plus every conceivable benefit you can imagine: health insurance; pension; car allowance; travel expenses; and more. The group also had over half a million in the bank account, which I'm sure wasn't going anywhere except into somebody's pockets.

In 2006 the group got a grant from the Joyce Foundation for over $600,000. I saw a couple of newspaper ads, and that was about it. In 2010 they got another $300,000+ from the Joyce Foundation.

They've got some lucrative rackets going. If I didn't have a conscience, I'd be tempted to start a liberal "action" group and make some serious easy money.

Michael Moore has made tens of millions for himself without having to be a good producer, director or actor. He's a skilled con artist, though, just like Al Gore and so many others.

For example: Deep in my heart, I, noted good guy Michael Moore, am afraid of people of color, therefore the dumber people who do not agree with me must also be afraid of the same people, and that's why they want guns.

You would have to ignore the history of gun control to believe that, but somehow I think Mr. Moore has that capability.

He went from being on public assistance to making millions. I'd bet that he's using every available means to keep his taxes to a minimum while he preaches the evils of capitalism.

One of my "gun buddies" who I see at the local shop and range all the time is a guy named Frank, a 50-something black former Marine, now a banker, who collects Knights Armament and Colt rifles. As in, last count was 72. :O

Racism? No. Jealousy? Maybe... :P

But I rarely if ever see them, except for a couple adopted kids at church (oh, and that's not why I moved here - I have a job close by, and I could afford this neighborhood, and it gave me almost 5 acres so I wouldn't have all my (white and I think one Asian family) neighbors piled on top of me). I still keep a .45 in the quick access safe in the bedroom, and am planning on setting up a shotgun hanger in the closet. Plenty of (white) meth heads around.
