From the article, it sounds like you wouldn't need a lead shield; there's plenty enough in the candy itself. :facepalm:

I was at a friend's house tonight, and happened to mention this. Sure enough, their daughter had a half-eaten "barrel" of the Toxic Waste candy.

The Times has been having problems lately with bad links. I did a search on the home page and found this. It works, at least as of today.
