They're stripping out all the non-fiscal portions that don't require a quorum, and the Democrats are screaming bloody murder. (Their screaming on the live feed is... music to my ears... [:P] )
And since it's the non-fiscal stuff that had the Democrats run out of state at the bidding of their union puppet-masters, they're possibly returning since there's no more point in quorum breaking.

Which bill?

I thought I could hear a high-pitched whine coming from a southeasterly direction. =D

There's an epic rant (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704629104576191003890014010.html#articleTabs%3Dcomments%26commentId%3D2192369) on page 5 of the comments section for that article.

Cool!
But did they know about this option from the start?

Presumably.
IMO, it's mainly a matter of "being the grownups" that they waited as long as they did.

That Marilyn chick is a 1st class 'tard.

I guess that's my question, what's up with the timing?
If their absence makes the Dems look bad and strengthens our side's position, then no sense in pushing this through now. Milk it for all its worth.
If the protests and delays and media spin are playing into the Dems hands, then they shoulda passed this bill on day 1 and bypassed all of this crap.
It makes me wonder why they held off initially, then suddenly changed tactics right now. What happened to prompt the switch?

I'm betting Republican senators getting wobbly. There was already one defection.
-
I wonder. Recent media reports have been depicting the Repubs on shaky ground, saying that the public is supporting the unions moreso than the Gov and the Rep senators. It's easy to discount such reports in the media, given the source, but now I wonder if there might actually have been some truth to it.
Did the Repubs see the writing on the wall and conclude that they were losing this fight? If so, that doesn't bode well.
If the public can't see that the public unions are a major problem these days, and doesn't have the stomach to back politcritters who take on the public unions, then we're in a bigger mess than I thought.

So I'm watching the live feed of the protest, Rev Jesse Jackson is chatting "Show me what democracy looks like" and the crowd is responding "this is what democray looks like"
I just want to get a bigger bull horn and scream "Its a representative republic"

Good for Wisconsin. Now ram through Vermont carry, school vouchers, and every other damn thing they can before the 14 traitors get back.

Remember the bills still have to pass the house.
I'd settle for school vouchers, but given that it's still Wisconsin, I'll bet that's a stretch.
-
Don't they have a majority in both houses?

I believe it's 57-37 in the house, in favor of Republicans. I'm not certain on the number of squishy Republicans in the house, though.

I want TABOR. We replaced our rino senator (Mary Panzer) with a very staunch conservative (Glen Grothman) a 1/2 dozen years back because she wouldn't bring TABOR up for a vote when it would have passed. Vermont carry would be awesome, but I want to keep protect from theft some of my money first so that I could afford to buy a new piece and some blasting ammo. I'm tired of my property taxes going up by leaps and bounds every year- it was $2800 10 years ago, my last tax bill was a shade under $4800.

I want to bang my head into a wall every time someone says our country is a democracy.

TABOR??
Anyway, that rate of increase isn't much off from overall inflation. It works out to ~5.4% annually. At a normal 4% inflation you'd only be $600 cheaper.
