Probably have some eaglets next month sometime.

That is pretty cool. I'll have to take a look in the daylight.
I was surprised at how slowly they breath when sleeping. I thought with a bird's faster metabolism they would breath somewhat faster.
Thanks for sharing that, bedlamite.

Pretty cool.
We had a couple of bald eagles living on the Potomac river down by us in Harpers Ferry. We'd see them when canoeing down from Shepherdstown.
-
They are incubating three eggs.
-
They have had a cam on that nest for years, its right near a trout hatchery in NE, IA.
We used to have a eagles nest where I live until the flood of 08 took the tree out. I was near the parking lot of a drive thru burger joint (Be-Bops) you could order a burger and malt and watch them from a picnic table.

Not another stupid reality show. Hatching With the Stars, great. ;/
-
First chick hatched sometime this morning.

It looks like rabbit was on the menu for lunch today. The little ones seem to like it.
-
So far I've seen rabbit, crow, several trout, and what looked like a muskrat.

and a sucker

The eaglets sure are growing up. I wonder if any have had their first flight? SWMBO and I saw a much younger looking one take off from a local nest last year as we rode by on our bikes.
eta: It looks like one of the eaglets is wanting to fly. It keeps jumping around and flapping its wings. Every time it does it, the camera gets a good whack, too.

Three eggs again this year.
-
I can't find the link but there is a similar nest/cam in upstate NY somewhere.
-
Edit: Nevermind

This brings to mind a very fond memory...
1 year and 1 week ago my second daughter was born. After discharging from the hospital, we went directly to Steak 'n Shake for some lunch along with my parents. The restaurant is located on the banks of the Illinois river in East Peoria. As we sat and ate, we watched out of the rear windows (river side) the ice flow slowly down the river, the downtown on the other side, and bald eagles fishing the cold waters. As it happened, several had decided to use a tree on the bank behind SnS for their hunting perch. The eagles sat patiently outside our window, maybe 20ft away, while we ate a well deserved hamburger and shake.
I didn't have the presence of mind to take any pictures, but these pictures from the internet cover it nicely. This should be the correct picture of the Steak n Shake.

Illinois may suck as a state, but Peoria does have its charm.

Three new eaglets this year. The original link (http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles) is still good.
-
The GF and I have been watching pretty regularly...they grow so fast! Just three weeks ago, she could fit all three under her...now they are like fuzzy Cornish game hens, and their white is starting to come in!
They poo funny though, they kinda shoot it out ballistically over the side of the nest.
