Title: RINO season
Post by: Perd Hapley on November 16, 2011, 01:03:04 AM
So I guess the next Republican Prez nominee will probably be some flavor of RINO or another. Which leads me to thinkin'. Would I be utterly crazy, in an Obama-Romney election, to vote for Obama?

Neither Perry nor Gingrich would be my first choice, but IF ONE OF THEM IS NOMINATED, I would probably vote for them IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.

If Romney is nominated, though, I don't see how I could justify voting for Mr. Romneycare. And I think I would be obliged to do my small part to see that the Republican Party gets the message - health control has to die; we will not tolerate it or its fellow travelers. So perhaps I should vote for the - the - I can't say it - the incumbent?  =|

I think at this point the most we can hope for is evicting the RINOs from the house and senate.  Even Romney would likely follow the lead of a truly conservative house.

You make a good point, sir. Odds are better for reforming the Senate this time around, so I've been hoping for that.

And even though I oppose RINOs, I would not outlaw them.  :P

Kill 'em, skin 'em, and use their shinbones for pencil boxes.

I cannot vote for Romney as I do not trust him. He says he's changed his mind on all the issues he used to oppose, but he has no record to back that up. I will not vote for him in the general.

I also won't vote for Obama as I will not actively work for the destruction of my country. (Which is also why I won't vote for Romney.) I will write in a candidate if I have to. As a last resort, I will even write in myself if no other candidate is available.

Yeah, that's probably what I would end up doing.

I'm curious to know whether you would vote for Gingrich, Perry, Cain, etc, in the general election.

I would vote for Cain, Paul, and maybe Gingrich. Not sure I trust Newt to noy follow the party line.

Yes. They are not my preferred choices, but I would vote for any of them in the general.

Interesting input. Thanks all.

I'm hoping Mercer gets into this race soon. We could really use some credible leadership.  =(

I'd vote for any Republican.  Or I won't vote at all because I wouldn't want Obama on my conscience.

Sure, vote for Obama; you won't have to vote again, ever.

Roy D. Mercer for President!  Don't know if I could deal with a first lady named "Sharon Jean" though...

I am reminded of our recent election here.  I disliked both candidates for county executive equally, so I just left that part of the ballot blank and voted in the other races.

I hope you know which Mercer I was actually referring to. Of course, the media gave his campaign even less coverage than Ron Paul's.
